Hi,

For remove date and author on single page, then go to single post settings in customizer (Theme Dashboard >> appearance >> customize >> theme options) and disable or click remove.

Hi,

For this go to header image settings in customizer and remove overlay or change background color,

And remove arrow in Latest News, for this add the below css code in additional css filed

.mg-latest-news .mg-latest-news-slider a::before
{
content:none !important;
}

Hi,

Yes, you can use even a child theme to the new update of Newsup theme, If you want to do some customization in the parent Newsup theme, then use child theme for this..

Please do not customize or edit code in direct parent theme package, for this please create a child theme and customization your work in child theme..

You can also following the article link, how to use child theme or create a child theme

And Change the background color go to Header image settings (Theme Dashboard >> appearance >> customize >> Header Image ) and change the Header overlay color, you can also following screenshot link: http://prntscr.com/siw397
