If you (or someone else) is still interested, there is an option the the plugin settings for just this problem called “Prevent Lightbox Loading:”. The images can still be viewed using your theme’s lightbox plugin, but the Alpine plugin will not load its own lightbox.

The plugin sizes the images when the page first loads and is unable to change if the size of the page or sidebar changes. However, you could try using the Cascade style to see if that works better.

I am aware that the plugin does not work well with dynamic themes or themes that use a lot of JavaScript. Particularly with what you are experiencing, “loading it standalone” means that another script has crashed and prevented any script that tries to load after it (like clicking on an image to load the lightbox) from working. This is a known limitation of JavaScript.
Sorry I don’t have any better advice, but I am really not sure what is causing the problem.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Alpine Photo Tile for Instagram] User's recent imagesThe plugin is designed to “cache” the links to your images and only check for new images every 3 hours. You can adjust the time between updates on the plugin’s settings page, but I recommend using 3 to 5 hours. Retrieving new information from Instagram can slow down your website and it is best not to do it too often.
If you are still seeing the same images after an entire day, there might be something else going on. Has the plugin updated or are you still seeing the same 4 images?Forum: Plugins

I have never seen this before. There is nothing loaded on the webpage at all. No error messages or content, which leads me to think that an error is occurring in the web server when it loads WordPress, but that it is set to hide the message. I don’t have the Geo Places theme myself to test it out, but I do know that the Alpine Instagram plugin is not prepared to handle dynamic websites (websites that change their layout without actually reloading the page). Without digging through your website myself, my best advice would be to see if any of the other Instagram plugins work. This should help reveal if the conflict is with the Alpine plugin, the theme, or the settings of your web server.

It sounds to me like there is a conflict between the JavaScript of the theme and the plugin. I cannot think of a reason this is happening. Is there a link that I can go to and see the problem myself? There was a small bug in the plugin that caused it to reuse the same cache over and over again. I have fixed the problem and submitted an update to WordPress. Please let me know if you have any other problems.

Because Pinterest has not yet released an API to allow programmers to build apps, the plugin must use Pinterest RSS feeds to find pins. These feeds only show the 25 most recent pins. If you want to show more than 25 pins, your best option is probably to show multiple pinboards. Sorry I cannot do more at the moment, but I hope to add better features to the plugin as soon as Pinterest makes them possible.

I know that using the shuffle or user tag options will slow things down, but 10 seconds is far too long. Does it happen if you show just one image? Have other plugins worked better? I could try to see what they do differently. I am sorry that I have no helpful advice to give you at the moment.
