The theme developer found this line
img { max-width: 1600px !important; }in the source code for the content area on the page, which was evidently created by the lightbox gallery, and which is the cause of the issue. Please tell me where this piece of code is being called from so I can remove it, because I can’t find it.

In reply to: [Twenty Eleven] Help with possible conflictI’ve contacted my hosting company, and they say the instructions linked to above for adding a MIME type in Plesk are for an older version of Windows Plesk. To add a MIME type in a Linux hosting environment, I would need to create an .htaccess file. I’m going to have to research this some more.

In reply to: [Longevity] Terrible problem with banner image!Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Thank you so much! That worked a treat! Now if I could just figure out that bizarre thing on the gallery page, which only seems to show up in Chrome, not Firefox!

In reply to: [Longevity] Odd page appearance when using gallery plug-inIf I could find another lightbox that would do what the Simple Lightbox Gallery does, I’d install it in a heartbeat. The https://wordpress.org/plugins/lightbox-plus/ is evidently no longer supported, as it’s being completely re-written. The https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-lightbox/ is giving me fits, as I can’t seem to add captions to the images and have them display next to each other in a grid. As soon as I add a caption, the photos want to stack up underneath each other instead of next to each other.
I’ve got a support question in to the theme developer by e-mail, not sure how long it will take her to reply. If I had any idea where that piece of code lived, I’d try removing it manually.

In reply to: [Longevity] Terrible problem with banner image! It seems to…not sure this will keep the banner from splitting in half horizontally at the wrong place, but let me try it. Where should I enter this piece of code?

In reply to: [Longevity] Terrible problem with banner image!…which, I don’t really have time to do today! [:-/

In reply to: [Twenty Eleven] Help with possible conflictI will have to check this – my web hosting company uses Plesk control panel.

In reply to: [Longevity] Terrible problem with banner image!Oh, sorry – I meant to put that in.
Your demo image seems to be much deeper (taller) than my image. Maybe I need to alter the aspect ratio of my banner image.

In reply to: [Longevity] Odd page appearance when using gallery plug-inThank you for that – where does that bit of code appear? Is it in the theme’s style.css? I am using the original theme, and haven’t seen the need yet to make any changes that would require a child theme, so I don’t recall adding that. Or is this something in the plugin’s coding?

In reply to: [Twenty Eleven] Help with possible conflictOh, that’s interesting! I just saw your response to this question on the Plugin’s support forum, and noticed that you said my “server is misconfigured for *.svg files.” It would make sense, then, that I’m not having the same issue with the other website I am working on, because that site is hosted with a different hosting company!
Is there anything I can tell my web host that they could fix on the server so that the plugin would work properly?

In reply to: [Twenty Eleven] Help with possible conflictHmmmm, my son did find something similar when he put the page in his debugger, but we couldn’t figure out how to fix it. What baffles me is that I’ve started a new site with a different theme, and in that site the gallery seems to work fine – and I don’t see any difference in the code. If you can see where the difference is, please let me know. Especially if there’s a way to fix it.

In reply to: [Lightning] Theme/Plug In conflict?Never mind #1, I figured that out. But the #2 problem remains.

In reply to: [Lightning] Add text in top white bar next to logo?Wow. I looked high and low, but didn’t find that thread. I’ve noticed it seems to happen on every theme I’ve ever used, so I’m sure it isn’t a theme issue, so thanks for finding that for me. It seems to work, but that’s a lotta code to hand-write! I’m looking at doing a page with contact information that has a list of 79 counties that would be links to 79 different anchors. I may have to re-think my strategy for that page. [:-) Thanks again! I have another question, but I’ll post it in its own thread.
