In reply to: [Longevity] Top level menu item link not to page or post? Why didn’t I see that? Thanks!

In reply to: Menu links not workingThe link you referenced above is the link for the buy button on the currently-existing site. I am building the WordPress site in a sub-directory, and “buy” is the name of an actual page in the wordpress site, that’s what generates the word “Buy” in the menu, so it should go to the page. If you’ll notice, none of the other links are working either – and those links are all generated by pages I created on the wordpress site. It shouldn’t matter what the current site is doing, the WordPress site, existing in a sub-directory, should be independent of that.

In reply to: [Longevity] Suitable for E-commerce siteThat’s ok, as long as there isn’t some reason you know of why it definitely wouldn’t be suitable for use with an e-commerce application. I will have to check with the folks that provide the shopping cart software.

In reply to: [Longevity] Links to pages throwing 404 error? And what’s even weirder is that I haven’t installed the statcounter plugin on this wordpress installation, which is located in a sub-folder on this domain’s server. Statcounter is installed in the now-existing site, but not on the wordpress site.

In reply to: Menu links not working“buy” is the name of the page, not a folder. If it’s trying to go to a folder and not a page, then it’s attempting to go to the wrong thing.

In reply to: [Longevity] Add link to footer?I’m well into this project now and wonder if there’s been any progress on this issue? Thanks!
It may have been a caching issue, but I cleared my cache and did a hard refresh about two dozen times with no success – then I left it alone for a few hours, and when I came back it seemed to have fixed itself. I’ve never had this issue before except when changing DNS settings on a website, and then my satellite ISP caching issues would hold me up big-time for days. Somehow, I do think my satellite ISP is messing with things, because I’ve been getting a lot of “Are you sure you want to do this…try again” messages in the past couple of days.

In reply to: [Longevity] Change main content text colorI seem to have a talent for picking “problem” plugins. [:-/ I think I’ve got everything working together now, at least for the present. Thanks again for all your assistance, and for creating this theme!

In reply to: [Longevity] Change main content text colorThanks for that. I think I’ve got it in a pretty good place now, if they don’t change their minds back again. *rolling eyes emoticon here*
I just really like the way the Events Calendar works, and it does what my client needs it to do. I haven’t found another one that fits the bill like this one does. They were all deficient in one aspect or another. Is there another one you recommend that does the same thing and doesn’t add all that boatload of CSS?

In reply to: [Longevity] Change main content text colorOh, ok that sounds a lot easier. What about the color of the links? Is that as easy to change as the text color? The light blue isn’t quite standing out against the darker blue.
What about the Font Awesome question that appeared in my notification e-mail of the reply, but which doesn’t appear here now. Are we all good with that? I don’t have any plugins that I know of that are loading that.

In reply to: [Longevity] Odd page appearance when using gallery plug-insimple-lightbox-slider-shortcode.php
weblizar, the fix that Maximum_Results posted on that other thread worked at restoring the navigation buttons on the light box! I am now able to use the plugin on three sites where I’d almost given up hope.

In reply to: [Twenty Eleven] Help with possible conflictWOWEEEEEE! It worked! Thank you so much for finding this and taking the time and trouble to talk me through the solution! You are my new web GURU! (Don’t tell my web host…he thinks he is the only one.)

In reply to: [Longevity] Odd page appearance when using gallery plug-inJust a quick follow-up, I heard back from the plugin author, and they told me the file where that code was contained, and I was able to go in and remove it, and that seems to have resolved the issue. So thank you for finding the troublesome bit of code and pointing it out to me, because I’m really not sure they would have been able to find it!
It did! Thank you! I’m really excited to be able to use this plugin on that site!
