In reply to: I have no admin toolbar.Thank you kristinachilds.
Esmi, I have used cPanel which I believe is the FTP for Purely Hosting. I ahve had to use it to add plugins because I have no add new plugin option in my dashboard of WP. I have learned a lot and will continue to add to my knowledge. I am going to copy all my posts to MSWord so I won’t loose them. I will reset all 5 themes to 2011. What about the permissions question? Could that be my problem?

In reply to: I have no admin toolbar.esmi, I am a very new newbie. Please bear with me. I already deactivated all plugins and switched to 2011 theme. Does the theme switch have to be done for each page and post on my site? Because I have the 2011 them on the first page and eDegree on the next page. After I deactivated all plugins and reset the theme, there was no change in what I can do. I still am not allowed into the settings of themes, I don’t have an adm bar if it is different from the one I posted, and I still do not have the “add new plugin” option. That’s the only way I know of that I can tell if there is a change. How do I reset the plugins folder? To deactivate, I renamed the folder then corrected it back to plugins. If I need to redo any of this, I will. If I have to use your last suggestion of re-uploading, I have some questions about that.

In reply to: I have no admin toolbar.Do I need to change permissions in cPanel. Each theme’s permissions are set at 0755. Could this be limiting my access to some screens?

In reply to: I have no admin toolbar.I deactivated all plugins by renaming the plugin folder in cPanel. I changed the theme to 2011. I then went back a reactivated the plugins is use. I will put a screenshot of the plugin list on a page titled Plugins. Yes I am the administrator, I don’t know what the theme file code is or where to find is. If it is in theme settings, I cannot get to that page. Would it help if I gave you access to my dashboard?

In reply to: I have no admin toolbar. That’s right. My only choices are navigation items. I tried going into theme settings under appearance and got a forbidden error. I don’t know what plugin I need. I did try to a WP admin bar but it didn’t change anything. I just found this one for multisite super admin. Should I give it a try? http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/multisite-toolbar-additions/

In reply to: I have no admin toolbar.I reset the theme on my home decor site. No changes. Still no admin toolbar. I can live without the add new plugin but I think I need the adm toolbar for some things, right?

In reply to: I have no admin toolbar.I renamed the plugin file in cPanel. It deactivated all the plugins. No change on the admin toolbar. I went to My Theme > settings > yes to User Login/Adm Bar. No change. Still no “add new” option for the plugins.

In reply to: I have no admin toolbar.I believe it is a multisite. They are all under my domain http://www.ideas-from-toni.biz. They are /homedecor/, /fashion/, /food/, /fitness/, and /travel/. Homedecor is the controlling site. Each site has its own WP dashboard. The toolbar has the WP logo > my sites . homedecor > comment bubble > new (drop down menu for posts, etc. The middle is blank and on the far right it says Howdy Toni. Selecting admin there just takes me to my profile page. I will try deactivating the plugins.

In reply to: I have no admin toolbar. The themes are eDegree, Pretty, Travel Blogger, Priimo and Food Recipe. I have not altered them because I don’t know how except by using widgets and plugins. The problem I have described applies to all 5 of my sites. Also “back to normal” is unknown to me since this is the way the sites were built for me. If I rename the plugins folder then go to WP I should see them all deactivated? And if this doesn’t give the the admin toolbar, change all 5 to the 2011 theme?

Don’t know if this works. Like I said, I’m a newbie. I an use programs but have never written them. I tried to send you a link so you can see what my page looks like when I am logged into WP and go to my site. I don’t see what looks like a strange gap between the bottom of the browser and the top of my website. I just see the WP user bar that lets me go back to my dashboard or my other sites within WP. It’s the same bar I see no matter where I navigate throughout WP. Hope I made that clear for you. Next, I don’t know where to look for the coding you show in your answer. My host is PurelyHosting and they have a cPanel. This is what I have been using to add plugins. Would I use cPanel to locate the coding in your reply or is it located in WP?
