WPyogi, I figured I might not be the only WordPress user who has experienced this.
I finally figured it out and hopefully this might help someone else who runs into this issue.
Apparently this is a known issue caused by Avira Anti-virus Web Protection:

I thought so too… but if that’s the case, why does it work fine on multiple other computers? There’s one 1 computer that shows this problem. And it works fine in windows safe mode?
How could it not be a PC issue?
