Craig,
To do a ‘database clean’, there is no automated way to do it, but if you have access to your database it is relatively straightforward:
1. Go to your wordpress database, in the wp_options table.
2. Find the row were the option_name = plugin_adsensem
3. Delete this row. This will purge all data from advertising manager.
Note that the next version of Advertising Manager, v4.0, (release date will be at the end of May 2009) will store information in a number of rows in this table. All of the rows start with ‘plugin_advman’.

In reply to: [Plugin: Advertising Manager] Fatal error: Call to…morcom:
This error occurs when Advertising Manager identifies Adsense Manager data, and tries to upgrade the Adsense Manager data when it is still enabled.
For the life of me I cannot imagine a scenario where this error would occur with Adsense Manager uninstalled.
The next version of Advertising Manager will not stomp over Adsense Manager in any way, so that this error will no longer be thrown in any situation.
I am very glad that you were able to sort out this issue! Stay tuned for the next upcoming version…

Per our conversation, this was an issue with the ‘Recent’ widget.

ScottThe theme forum that you are pointing to only shows your messages (not the responses). Would you mind cut/pasting the full conversation and sending it to me in email? scott at switzer dot org.

In reply to: [Plugin: Advertising Manager] To insert the ad unit inside the posttheindiansabroad:
I am not sure that I understand, but I will try:
To see the ad code, under the ‘Ads’ menu, click on ‘Edit’. You will see a list of ads. Click on one of the ads, and you will see the properties of the ad. Scroll down to ‘Ad Code’ which is under the ‘Code’ menu. This is where the ad code lives. Note that for your ad networks, you can see and copy the code, but you cannot modify it (because it would screw up the ‘import code’ functionality). If you want to modify an ad, you need to re-import a new ad (by clicking on the ‘Create New’ menu item).
To add ads to your existing post, you can either edit the post and put in ‘[ad#name]’ where you want the ad to appear (where name is the name of your ad), or go to the post editor, make sure you are on the ‘HTML’ tab, place the cursor where you want your ad to appear, and click on the ‘Insert Ad’ dropdown (where the HTML fomatting buttons are) and select your ad.
I hope this helps. If you have any other specific questions, please let me know!

schmitty23:I added the feature:
‘Hide widget formatting’ in the widget settings area in v3.3.18. If you want to turn off the formatting from your theme, just check this box.
I am afraid I will not be able to get to adding transparent and other backgrounds – mostly because with the large number of themes out there, I would probably break something π
Hope this works for you,

jojoradiousa:I fixed this issue in version 3.3.18. However, I am not able to test on 4.3.11 or earlier for any other issues, because my development environment does not support it. So – please let me know how it goes, and if it works!

This seems strange. The class definition ‘Ad_AdSense’ comes from Adsense Manager, not Advertising Manager.
Are you sure you have Adsense Manager deactivated?

Thanks – but I was looking for the PHP version, not the MySQL version. To get the PHP version, try installing the phpinfo plugin:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-php-info/
Then, you can get the PHP version from this, and send through.

schmitty23:These are great ideas. I will see if I can implement into the widget functionality of Advertising Manager.

In reply to: [Plugin: Advertising Manager] 404 pagesolidhex:
Thanks! I will see what I can do regarding the 404 page. Even if you cannot use the widget functionality, i imagine that you can edit the 404 page template, and add <?php advman_ad(‘ADNAME’); ?> (where ADNAME is the name of your ad).
I will see if wigets will work as well.

In reply to: [Plugin: Advertising Manager] I believe this plugin is broken.I spent time with ibacco, and on his WordPress instance, the ad widgets cannot be removed once added. For example, when you try to click ‘edit’ on the added widget, it does not open up to show the ‘remove’ button.
Using firebug, I see that when clicking the widget, there is no communication back to the server. In addition, there is a JQuery error on the page:
$(“myform”) is null
This looks like a WordPress bug to me, but I can only reproduce it with Advertising Manager widgets.
Does anybody else have this issue?
