If you are using shortcode to display the news then please make sure that you are using the correct shortcode to display the news, since from version 8.8 onwards the shortcode was changed.
shortcode for version 8.8 onwards : [news-announcement group=”sample”]
Have a check with and do let us know if still the issue persists.
The admin notice that was shown was a ‘recommendation’ (and not force usage) to make better use of Email Subscribers. Additionally, the notice was of another free plugin of WordPress (which was also our plugin) and it was easily dismissible if you didn’t wanted to use the recommended plugin.
Also, it is written clearly here – Detailed Plugin Guidelines under point 5, that
It’s perfectly fine to attempt to upsell the user on other products and features, but a) not in an annoying manner and b) not by disabling functionality after some time period.
and I don’t think we have violated any of the above rules.

Smart Manager Lite does allow you to view and manage your products, customers, orders and coupons in a single page view. It even lets you inline edit for multiple products (max 3 at a time in Lite version) and delete products.
Further, you can also filter records using the search and advanced search functionality.
Could you please let us know as to why do feel that Smart Manager Lite is not that useful?

Does your Web Host has any daily limit to send emails? Also, how many subscribers you are trying to send email too?

As Email Subscribers is working correctly for you now, would you mind changing your current rating and giving us 5-star rating.

With respect to po files, you would need to generate new po file for your language after each release and then translate the modified strings, so that new translation works & reflects correctly.
Also, the confirmation email content is present at Email Subscribers -> Settings. So you can simply write that message in any language that you want.

Next version (releasing before end of this week) will have a fix included for this.Not possible with Email Subscribers to auto select language based on version of website.
