I have spent the past few hours trying to get past this error with no success. I have no idea what to do now. I tried everything in this thread – WP-Mail-SMTP with lots of different settings combinations, activated Jetpack, made the code change in the class-phpmailer.php patch… Any help is greatly appreciated. I have to Contact Form 7 forms on WordPress 3.4 and have gotten the “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.” error every time. Trying to launch a site and this is the only thing stopping me… Thanks so much.
If you can’t find it anywhere online, shoot me an email and I’ll send it to you as a zip file. Fortunately I still had it on my computer from a previous project. steve-at-exclaimweb-dot-com
Thank you!! That was it! It’s an issue with the new version of Contact Form 7 – just came out a few days ago. It forms the shortcode differently now and it’s breaking Email Before Download. I rolled CF7 back to version 2.4.6 and everything is working again. Phew!
Same exact issue here. Is this a bug with the most recent release of Email Before Download? Contact Form 7 and Download Monitor appear to be working fine on their own.
I’ve narrowed it down to either being a buggy plugin or a mod_rewrite issue… Any help is greatly appreciated.
