  • workingroup: After we spoke I called Aplus.net (host server) and sent Carl a notepad file with the content for the draft I couldn’t edit or publish. As you can see at freedomfromthepress.net, Fleecing of America was edited, image inserted and published without error using their non-satellite Internet feed.

This tells me there’s no problem with WP 2.9.1… There must be a transport issue involving conflicting proxies or packet loss between Spacenet and Aplus.net’s shared server.

The tracert report and error message were requested by Aplus.net for further review. Packet loss could also be causing page not found errors with other Satellite ISP’s…

    Workingroup – Call 1-877-247-9379… Lets talk…

With StarBand I’m not getting tossed out. I can click the back button and the admin edit page will reload. When I surf to the site http://freedomfromthepress.net the site load fine and I can navigate where ever I want without any errors.

The problems begin when I attempt to login to the admin panel using Firefox… Opera 10.10 logs in fine but runs into trouble whenever I attempt to insert an image into a posts or save a draft or publish…

Spacenet engineer Kenneth Cate is aware of the problem and can be reached at Kenneth.Cate@spacenet.com if a WP coder wants to help solve this problem… HELP! Those of us on Satellite cannot simply pick up the phone to hire a different ISP cause there aren’t any…

Yes, I agree… I know StarBand uses a proxy server to speed up the loading of pages… I first published a WP blog in August of 2008, I’ve used StarBand the entire time without any problems… Until this week…

Yes and, I’ve deactivated all plugins and, I’ve activated a proven theme (primepress)… Whatever engine in 2.9.1 that inserts images into posts and saves drafts or publishes posts is timing out. This error is what I get attempting to accomplish any of these tasks to include logging in via Firefox…

Something is going on. We’re either being hacked or there’s a major problem with 2.9.1 or 2.9.1 is using something that’s not compatible with some hosting servers… They’ll fix it, rest assured… Until then, multiple blogs will remain damaged or become outdated with old content… My last post was on 01/10 and there’s not much I can do about it… Try using Opera 10.10… Firefox is DOA, cannot login… 🙁

Download and activate plugins like share this and twitter tools… Icons will appear at the bottom of each posts…

Try using browser Opera 10.10. Free download…

In the last 7 days I cannot access my WP blog using a recently updated version of Firefox… Even using Opera, I cannot insert images into a post or save a draft or posts… Don’t know if the problem is with my ISP or WP 2.9.1?

I’m having similar problems… Can you insert an image into your post? I get a read error. Can you save a draft or publish? I get a read error.

Just a thought, are you using StarBand/Spacenet Satellite ISP? I am and I don’t have any other options here… A Spacenet engineer has told me that they’ve had several issues crop up in the last week that are similar to what we’re experiencing…

Something is very wrong… I used Firefox and kept it updated when I’d edit my blog. Now, I cannot login to my admin panel using firefox… When I use Opera 10.10 I can login but cannot insert images into posts or save drafts or publish anything… My blog is 1.5 years old and I’ve never had this problem until now…

Follow-up – I believe the problem I’m still having has something to do with my ISP… I’ve been locked out from adding new content since 01/10/2010…

Any ideas? I can login and activate deactivate plugins and themes… I cannot insert images into posts or save drafts or posts…

    Help! Steven Thompson
