    Hi Cheryl!

We’re sorry to hear that MembershipWorks does not have the features you are looking for, sometimes there may be specific features a customer is looking for where we may not be the right fit/solution for their needs.

Ultimately the list of things our system (or any system for that matter) cannot do is infinite; our system has thousands of features but it may not matter if we do not have the few specific features a customer needs. So we encourage potential customers to schedule a (free) demo with us so they can determine if we are a good fit before signing up. In addition we do provide a 30-day money back guarantee if you signup for a paid plan, so if you find that we are not the right solution you can cancel within that time and receive a full refund.

The reason the documentation is only available after the install is because some of the documentation is dynamically customized to the account. For example the shortcodes would be different depending on your membership levels, or event categories, etc.

We also wish to address the following for others reading this:

    2) Our directory/event/form shortcodes all are designed to take up an entire page and are not meant to be used as widgets. For example from the directory a user can click to a directory profile, and that directory profile is a separate URL – ie. the pages are dynamic and store state in the URL. That allows direct links to a directory profile or an event with a unique URL. But since there is only 1 URL state it is not possible to have multiple things on the same page (eg. a directory AND a calendar). We do have widgets that display a member sideshow or upcoming event list and those can be used multiple times per page.

    3) The directory list uses dynamic loading when a user scrolls, which we feel is better suited to today’s mobile devices than pagination. However we understand some customers prefer pagination, and that is not an option we offer at this time.

    5) The cards by default allow the display of an image/logo, name and a short description. In addition you can customize what loads on the membership cards – its is documented under Help > Customization > Directory List Template

    6) You can re-arrange event categories by drag & drop.

Hi ginaback40! MembershipWorks is a software service, like MailChimp/Google Maps, so the data and functionality does not reside on the WP server. There is no way to access the data through a WP query or modify how the event list/calendar feature works.

Hi mtporter! There is no way to not have a profile pull up but you can use visibility settings on the profile to hide most of the information based on specific labels/folders. So for example, you can setup the profile so that for some members, only the name is displayed.

Hi mtporter! The eventwidget can display the thumbnail, title and date. However it cannot display a short description. The eventwidget is output as a list with minimal formatting, to allow the developer to style the widget as they see fit. It may be that the thumbnail is not appearing due to a CSS issue. Without being able to view the page in question we cannot determine the issue for you, but you can inspect the DOM elements and CSS rules to determine if the thumbnail image element exists and whether it is hidden due to CSS.

Hi mtporter! Please provide the URL to the page with the shortcode so we can take a look.

    Hi mtporter!

If the member has the ability to add events they will see the Add Event button on the calendar/event list, so if you feel that is more appropriate or less confusing for your members you do not need to have a separate page on the website for adding events. Another alternative is you can add some text above the addevent shortcode to explain who has access to add events.

    Hi mtporter!

Are you referring to the specific text “You do not have access to add events” or to how to allow members to post events?

The specific text cannot be edited. To allow members to add events to your calendar please see Help > Events > Setup Events > Allowing Members to Post or Access Events.

Note that if you are logged in as an admin, you would not technically be a “member”. So you should test the page using another browser (not a different tab/window of the same browser) where you are not logged in as the admin.

    Hi laurathom2!

Once MembershipWorks logs the user in as a WP user, we do not interfere with or manage anything to do with access based on the WP user role. If a contributor cannot see the Posts menu you may have another plugin interfering with that – you will want to make sure to disable all other plugins that deal with member/role access.

    Hi laurathom2!

By default the plugin sets the “show_admin_bar_front” to false – ie. members will not see the admin menu bar at the top of the page that you might normally see when logged in as a WordPress user. However if they go to the /wp-admin/ URL they will be able to see the WP dashboard and access any areas of the site they are permitted to by their WP user role.

    Hi @justcallmetom

We have it as a potential future feature but unfortunately we do not have any sort of ETA we would be able to share on this.

    Hi @justcallmetom

At this time it is not possible to customize the links for the member profiles.

Hi gosling999! Yes the URLs of the pages are all on your domain. Some page resources (scripts, images) are loaded from MembershipWorks domain, but the URLs of the profile pages, event pages, signup form, etc are on your website proper.

Hi jrotem, when you paste in the CSV into the text box and click Import CSV, the list of redirects (above the buttons) will be cleared and re-populated based on the CSV. Review the results and make sure they are correct then click “Save Changes” to save.

Hi aakash8! Unfortunately this plugin cannot be setup to redirect based on a RedirectUrl parameter.
