Hi, thank you for your reply, and I think I might have detected the issue.
So, I did a troubleshooting mode as you suggested, with a default theme, and only Yoast activated as a plugin, with sitemap feature enabled. The case was that the sitemap for the root website folder regularly opened while the sitemap for /de/ subfolder couldn’t open, and the page showed an error – 404 code. I’m sure the issue is related to the /de/ subfolder configuration in a combination with Yoast plugin, as it seems to be working fine only when there is one default sitemap. Right now, since’s troubleshooting is disabled, the sitemap for /de/ loads regularly.
Is there a way to include both languages in one sitemap? The WP installation on this site is not a multisite. Two languages are connected via WPML plugin.
Thanks

Thank you for your detailed reply. I indeed tried all listed suggestions, but nothing happened. The client didn’t have a cache plugin on the site, so I installed one and excluded a sitemap file from caching, but nothing happened. I also disabled and re-enabled the sitemap, and nothing happened too. This is the sitemap in question:
https://72.services/de/post-sitemap.xml As you can see, it is in a language subfolder, and the site is bilingual. The site has two separate sitemaps, one for /en version, and another for /de.
My only conclusion is that it might be related to server cache.
What else should I try? Thank you
Hi, yes, we tested it and there was the bug too. Did you test it on WordPress 5.4.1 and theme OceanWP or Astra Lite? We have tested it on both themes and there was the bug on both of them.
Hello, regarding the issue Masterhaosis had,
we have deactivated all plugins and the problem didn’t exist anymore. We finally concluded the issue is with Classic Editor 1.5 since we activated all the other plugins except Classic Editor and everything was fine. If you could test it too on your sites it would be great.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Can’t access to my siteI am the only admin of the website. I made some changes in php my admin too and I guess I did something wrong. I guess I deleted something. But, my efforts to add another admin failed. I’ve done the tutorial exactly the way they did, but nothing. I am going to consult a friend who’s a developer, hopefully, he can help.
