thank you esmi i took your 3rd option and it seems to have worked, i have since been able to connect with the Jetpack plugin and deleted the ones that jetpack had already encompassed. So now almost have half the amount of plugins as before. Thanks again for your help 🙂

Thanks Seacoast Web Design i did what you said and it worked sort of, i can now access the dashboard but occasionally when i click on something within the database or update it i get a server error.
Thanks too ricardusexa i’ve looked and can’t find anything untoward, i’ve contacted my hosting provider also and they say everything is as it should be.
