Be sure to just set the top padding field to zero. You can leave a padding value set for right, bottom and left, they don’t have to be all the same. Only change the top padding value to zero.

The method above is a relatively quick way of checking to see if a problem is being caused by a child theme.

Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to modify a widget without custom development at quite an advanced level. By block I assume you mean widget. Changing a widget would be something you could ask the widget developer. So a product category block, is that for WooCommerce? If so, WooCommerce develop and control that widget.
