Thanks so much for the reply! Actually, I have SMTP set up on the website and emails are being sent. The issue is that when I have set the send-to to be more than one email (say I want the notification to be sent to 3 emails) then the FIRST address gets all three emails. If I have 4 addresses to be notified then the first address gets 4 emails. I hope this makes the problem clearer now! Thanks!

In reply to: Page is blankI have deleted all the plugins via ftp and I’ve also changed the .htaccess file to increase the memory limit to 1000M (per another suggestion). Yet, I still get only a blank page when I attempt to view the installed plugins page. Everything has been working beautifully until today. ??? Any other ideas??

In reply to: Errors after moving siteThanks for your help. I’m pretty sure that I transfered correctly. I’ve gone through the process before. So, I knew what to expect. The site is working perfectly on the original server. I copied the DB files, did a search and replace on all the urls, created a new DB and imported. I also took all the WP files from the original server and moved them to the new site. I changed the config file. The worked but with an error msg at the top. It seemed to indicate that some path was not pointing where it should. I couldn’t figure out how to fix that. I decided to try Plan B.
This time I started fresh with a new WP install. Did an export/import from the old (working) site to the new. Figured I’d just manually re configure the plugins I’d used. That went well EXCEPT for some reason the new install doesn’t think I have any categories. Any thoughts on that? I noticed that the category ids are different. I don’t know what to do about that.
Any thoughts on getting either of these approaches to work would be most appreciated!!

In reply to: Why do I not have an .htacess file?Hey Figaro,
Another great and helpful video. This may be the way for me to go. Thanks!Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Why do I not have an .htacess file?Thank you for the links. I see that creating the file is easy to do. I just don’t know what should be -in- it. Can it be empty? Again my goal is just to set my blog URL to the root dir. The instructions say to put index.php and .htacess in the root. I’m stuck because I don’t have an .htacess. And evidently wordpress cares because if I just try to move index.php the site just goes blank.
I have not implemented pretty permalinks. Mainly because I’ve already got a few ugly links set up and if I were to change to pretty permalinks then I’d have to go through and re-do them. At this point, this could be easier if it means my .htacess woes would be over!! What do you say?
I watched the video figaro mentioned and that’s a great idea unfortunately my client does not have cpanel. 🙁

In reply to: Why do I not have an .htacess file? Thanks for your replies! I did set my FTP to show all hidden files. But I still don’t see the file. 🙁
I thought I’d try just carrying on without it. I set the blog url to the desired URL and just moved the index.php to the root. When I navigated to that url the screen was blank.
I don’t know enough to know what I’d want the .htacess file to do if I created one. Is there something generic that would serve the purpose?
Thanks again.
