In reply to: removing an item form navbar in twentyten themeI positively grovel. I’ve just tried again and it worked! Abject apologies for wasting your time. (Though I’m sure I’ll be back again with another problem!)

In reply to: removing an item form navbar in twentyten themeHi Esmi, Appearance-> Menus was the first thing I tried but it didn’t work. In fact I tried and tried and tried but after each attempt I still found that whilst ‘products’ had disappeared from the pages page it was still there on the Navbar.

In reply to: enabling comments on separate blog on a ordpress websiteIn an attempt to allow comments on the separate blog page of Seeinfohere.com I have visited Dashboard-Settings-Discussion and checked the following:
allow notification from other blogs;
allow people to post comments;
comment author must fill out name and email;
enable threaded comments 3 deep;
anyone can post a comment;
show avatars;
G suitable for all audiences.
I then clicked save Changes and went to the top of the page where it said “Settings saved”
However, over at the website my separate Blog page still says “Comments off”
Am I missing something?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: enabling comments on separate blog on a ordpress websiteSorry Krishna but neither checking nor unchecking in Settings – Descussion works for me but thanks for the headsup re creating a child theme.

In reply to: enabling comments on separate blog on a ordpress websiteHi Krishna,
Yes, I’ve tried that route, in fact I think I’ve tried everything except changing the Twenty Ten code in Appearance -Editor.
I’ve found the appropriate ode in other fora – can anyone tell me where I should insert it?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Adding separate blog page to a websiteEsmi, you are brilliant and thank you very very very much. I didn’t realise that I had to write posts under posts, not pages! Once I used the correct route it worked perfectly…..

In reply to: Adding separate blog page to a websiteHi Esmi,
Yes and yes.
I’ve had a static front page set for some time but decided I need a separate blog.
I created a new page called Blog which appears on my nav bar.
When I went to Settings Reading I made sure the static front page was listed as Seeinfohere.com and the Posts page was Blog. And I clicked “Save” but I still get a File Not Found Message when trying to access Blog from the nav bar.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Adding separate blog page to a websiteAlas the Permalinks suggestion doesn’t work for me either. Any other ideas out there?

In reply to: Adding separate blog page to a websiteSorry, should have mentioned that the theme is Twenty Twenty and I’ve customised the heading.
Oh why didn’t I think of that! A 1000 thanks.
Thank you alchymyth, that solved my problem.
Now I only need to work out how to reset the order that items appear on my nav bar as numbering them in the ‘pages’ section doesn’t seem to do it.oh, and I should have added that I should love to remove Pompuss’ gravatar which appears on http://WWW.pompuss.wordpress.com (which is okay) but has a sneaky habit of attaching itself to Seeinfohere as well.
