In reply to: NextGen Slideshow not workingI’m having the same problem with ver 1.6.2 where the slideshow is not working, but gallery is. The path to the .swf is correct, and everything works when I reinstall an old version of the plugin. Since my issue is not the image rotator path, is there some other suggestion?

In reply to: [Plugin: Stray Random Quotes] Can’t make source urls linkscorpodibacco ~
You’ve been very generous with your time, and I thank you kindly. The results I’m after (each source having a unique url) is achieved with your correction to problem #1. Of course, I should have written out the full URL. I think that it was my lack of understanding about the %SOURCE% variable that created some confusion, and also that I thought the last version of the plugin had a setting selection for “make sources links” however, I’m not sure.
Again, thank you so much for a great plugin.

In reply to: [Plugin: Stray Random Quotes] Can’t make source urls linksHi ~ Thanks for writing back, I do heart your plugin. In the last version, there was an option to select that the source & author would be made links. Now, I don’t know how to make them links. If you look at the page where the quotes are listed: http://perfectcirclemedia.com/contact-us/testimonials you can see that the sources is listed as a url.
Here’s what I’ve tried:
1. Making the source/author a link with the a tags inside the fields called “author” & “Source” on the page: “manage quotes” or “add quotes”. The result of this is that those fields disappear and all text below it (next quotes in the list) becomes a link (opens a new tab, but doesn’t go to any url)
2. Under “settings” I’ve tried surrounding the “source” with html tags. Here’s a screenshot: http://perfectcirclemedia.com/quote.jpg The result is that all the quote sources disappear.
3. Under “settings” I’ve tried adding the %SOURCE% text you mention, and the result is they are all made clickable, but open to: http://mother’s-kitchen-l.a./ (the source of the 1st quote, and not an actual link). Here’s a screenshot: http://perfectcirclemedia.com/quote2.jpg
I was hoping that somehow I’m not seeing the setting selection to simply make all the sources links. However, it seems that’s not the case? Can you please tell me how to make sources links (that open to the correct url).
Thanks

In reply to: 404 warning stopped working and dumps whole site onto one page ???Wonderful, sorry about my multiple repostings regarding this issue…it’s now cleared up. However, to clarify for someone having trouble like myself, it appears that the static post page must be to a page otherwise not navigable by your site. Otherwise, further problems ensue. Thank you kindly!

In reply to: 404 page not showingDavid and anyone else…my problem is that no 404 is working at all (either a custom one or the server default). Something is wrong with my wordpress code so that when a page that doesn’t exist is navigated it returns the entire site content. This is really bad and I must figure out how to fix it. I’ve done extensive research online and can’t figure it out. I first became aware of the situation when google webmaster tools told me that my header “returns a 200 success instead of a 404”.
Please help!
Thanks in advance,

In reply to: 404 warning stopped working and dumps whole site onto one page ???Hello ~
I have the exact same problem. So far to test I’ve done a fresh install onto 2 different servers. I first became aware of the issue when google webmaster no longer verified my sites as the “404 returned a 200 success in the header”. I’ve found that if I erase and re-create the htaccess file I’m able to get the 404 to return a 404 (and not dump all site content onto one page, as mentioned by the other poster). However, this makes breaks my permalinks and will only then display pages at the default structure. Can someone please help!?
Thanks,
Scarlett
