Hi Nicolas,
I did a little more research and it looks like it’s fairly common for webmasters to create a custom author.php. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I’ll be happy to include the ability to link to a custom author page. Look for it in the next plugin update!
Best,
SarahHi Nicolas,
In testing this out, I get a Page Not Found error if the author has no posts. I’d like to help you but unfortunately I can’t introduce navigation errors into the code.
Perhaps there is an alternative way of accomplishing what you need?

In reply to: [Dynamic User Directory] More metadataHi TTM-ES,
Thanks for your request. Unfortunately the free plugin will only allow up to 10 fields. However, I am in the process of creating several add-on features for the plugin that will be sold inexpensively at my website. I will add this request to my list of planned add-ons that should be released in the near future.

In reply to: [Dynamic User Directory] Array problemHi TTM-ES,
Sorry for the delay in reply. Great catch, thanks for reporting this problem. I will have this bug fixed in the next plugin update.

SarahHi Nicolas,
My apologies for the misunderstanding. I appreciate the offer to share your code for possible integration. I’d be happy to take a look at it and if it’s possible to integrate with minimal effort I will do so in the free version in the future. If it requires significant changes, however, I unfortunately cannot afford to invest the time without compensation. In that event I would prefer to develop the feature myself and offer it as an add-on, which would be a one-time charge of probably no more than $5 USD.
At the moment I am in the process of changing the way options are handled internally, after which I will be finishing up another add on currently in development. Once these are finished (perhaps in 3-4 weeks) I’ll be free to look at your code if you’d like to email it to me (sarah@sgcustomwebsolutions.com).
Thanks for your understanding!
Best regards,
SarahHi Nicolas,
Thanks for your request. Let me look into this one and get back with you. I first need to make sure that it doesn’t create any navigation problems.

SarahHello Nicolas,
Thanks for contacting me with your detailed request! I think it’s a great idea. I will add the ability to create multiple instances of the plugin to a short list of planned add-ons that will soon be available at minimal cost on my website (sgcustomwebsolutions.com).

In reply to: [Dynamic User Directory] Sort or Filter By Meta FieldsHi vanguardxm,
Glad you’ve found the plugin useful! It doesn’t currently have the feature you’re requesting, but I think it’s a great idea. I’ll include it in a set of add-ons I plan to make available for purchase on my website. Alternatively, I would be happy to discuss customizing the plugin for your site if you need something sooner. Just shoot me an email at sarah@sgcustomwebsolutions.com.

In reply to: [Dynamic User Directory] Display in columnsHi giansul,

Row 1:
User1 User 2 User 3Row 2:
User 4 User 5 User 6Etc…

In reply to: [Dynamic User Directory] Search functionFor those reading this thread: Adam got no results when he entered the last name using all lowercase letters because the search feature is currently case-sensitive. In the next update to be released this month, the search feature will work properly for both upper and lower case searches.

In reply to: [Dynamic User Directory] Search functionHi Adam,
Thanks for the kind words about the plugin! I received your email regarding this issue and have replied. For the benefit of those reading this thread, I requested that you turn on debug mode, view the user directory, and send me the output displayed on the screen for evaluation.

In reply to: [Dynamic User Directory] No user displayedI am closing out this thread as it appears something unique to Christian’s WP installation is conflicting with the User Directory plugin.

In reply to: [Dynamic User Directory] No user displayedChristian,
Okay, thanks. The quickest way to identify your problem is through the plugin’s debug mode.
On the directory settings page, turn the debug mode to “on” and save the change. Then attempt to view the directory. You should see a lot of new data displayed on the screen.
Please copy and paste this information into an email and send to my address: sarah@sgcustomwebsolutions.com. Please also let me know what theme you are using.
