never used postcron but facebook uses the URL of the content to pull so if postcron messes with that then that’s why it wouldn’t be posting right. That’s not a plugin issue.
As for blogs.dharma – Are you using an SEO plugin with the home meta description filled out? If not do you have the site description set in general settings?
As for magazine.dharma – I notice you’re using All In One Seo and yet the title isn’t pulling is a minor but with how aioseo works w/ the way we filter that data. That issue should be fixed today when we push the new patch.
this will now work w/ v2.0x when using an seo plugin that puts in meta data for authors
idk man i’m like the worst server IT guy evar… my damn sendmail isn’t working and I can’t even figure that shit out lol. I just know WP
technically no? but editing any plugin leaves you open for issues and overwrites when the plugin updates. And I’m pushing a big update either tonight or very soon. FYI 🙂
well the reason i say that is because the pre-plugin and post-plugin comment lines aren’t showing so can’t be sure it’s my plugin running.
The plugin calls the domain from php so… something somewhere is configured with an https… the plugin just calls what php spits out. So it’s sniffing that there’s an https call and changing the meta value according to that. It just spits out what it’s given.
no reason for it to be doing that at all. It uses what your site is set to be. I see you don’t have it installed / running now so I can’t see but maybe another plugin is making pages use ssl ?
They have or are shortly depreciating the page_id identifier. You’ll have to either use app_id or admins. That’ll be in next update too.
Just remember that Facebook changes shit ALL THE TIME without actually telling anybody… shit breaks often, sometimes they fix stuff sometimes they just nuke it entirely like this one and never say anything. Dev’s just try to keep up 🙂 Especially with the Open Graph stuff… it’s still pretty new so they change it almost daily.
eh I just reverted that part of the plugin… 1.6.1 should hit for you shortly.. I’ve already pushed it to the repo. standby.
it’s because you’re not using an seo plugin and don’t have title meta data for your home page. It’s something that changed in 1.6 that was a slight oversight in regard to people running ‘naked’ if you will. I’m moving it more towards working with the larger SEO plugins out there and this was the first step. I forget I need to run redundancy checks on older ways…
You can either roll back to 1.5.2 (I tagged the version in the repository linked from the plugin page) or I should be pushing a little fix for the few people having the issue this week. OR you can install allinoneseo or yoasts seo plugin. Standby tho… actively working on making this puppy better 🙂so use your personal facebook ID as listed in the plugin. http://graph.facebook.com/ put your username at the end of that and it’ll show you your user ID
Right now there’s not a real good way to handle that… it’ll look for an excerpt then pull body content.
In the nearish future I’m going to be integrating seo plugin’s info but it’s a crazy big step to get working right. For now just use an excerpt or let it pull the content but it’s definitely on my to do list when I have time.
1. are you using an seo plugin or not?
2. same question
3. is your theme doing something other than wp_title in the header.php?
read #2. open graph is supported
https://developers.google.com/+/plugins/+1button/#plus-snippetthat is correct. all it does is add tags that only facebook and google are looking for – it doesn’t modify or do anything with any seo plugin’s information – that’s all safe 🙂
Down the road I wil be making it pull from SEO plugin’s data so it’ll post to facebook more of the custom titles and descriptions you’ve put into the seo plugins. Just so many seo plugins and they all store data differently so it’s a big thing to build in.
there is no negative impact on seo
