good news – i decided to reload wordpress onto my site and it fixed the problem immediately!
Hmmm – I’m not entirely sure what that means – I checked the File Manager in Hostmonster and it *appears* that the index file is there, and it does contain information – but I am not very HTML-savvy and have no idea if something has been changed. Is there some sort of checking software I can run?

tried the scan – everything came back clean. my domain name doesn’t expire until december 2012.
also, forgot to mention I have 3 wordpress blogs, this has happened to two of them, but the other is fine. i am still able to login into them by going to hostmonster control panel and entering through the wordpress admin link from there.
