In reply to: Multisite including subdomains or addon domains.Ipstenu,
Thank you for your reply. Yes, the add ons are meant to be part of the multisite. As I said, I am fairly new to this and did read elsewhere about getting them to point to the /public_html/ however, just how exactly do I get them to point in that direction as it wasn’t explained in the other thread?Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Adding new site-error messageIn the meantime….just to keep you informed.
I have had a look around on cpanel I could see that in my public_html folders that WP was not installed into any of my addon domains even thought multisite was installed in the main domain root.
As I am working on my own here I thought I would have a go at doing a separate install of WP into my addon domain. This sort of worked, I now have a WP site for that addon domain but I cannot access it from my multisite network.
Whether I have done the right thing or not I have no idea as I am clutching at straws but the original error problem I was getting isn’t there.
I will now look around of how to resolve my current problem or start a new topic.Forum: Networking WordPress

In reply to: New site in multisite broken linkHi Joseph,
I lost the website overnight but after a bit of looking around this morning I had to re-install the theme and it works fine now complete with the chosen permalinks settings 🙂
ThanksForum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Adding new site-error messageI have had a good look around and found this 500 error on several other topics.
One of the things that may be an issue is that my subdomains may not be pointing at a WP install. Not sure how to rectify this but continue to search for the answer. Feel free to jump in if you know 🙂Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Do I need to re-install wordpress after moving domains?Got the site back online by re-installing the theme. Still got issues with adding a new site though.

In reply to: Do I need to re-install wordpress after moving domains?Well frustratingly when I checked this morning I find that my website has disappeared from online completely! I have emailed my host to take a look as the last thing I want is to mess about blindly on cpanel.

In reply to: Do I need to re-install wordpress after moving domains? On further investigation I am unable to find any of my website on filemanager in cpanel (I have got my web host who moved the domain looking into it- fortunately it is fully backed up 🙂 )
No idea why but the site works fine if the permalinks settings are changed back to default so that’s how they are for now.Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: New site in multisite broken linkHi Joseph,
Thanks for that. I did as you said, I went and changed the permalinks to default and hey presto the site links worked. However, it went back to broken links when I re-instated my preference of post name. 🙁Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Do I need to re-install wordpress after moving domains? Is it that I just need to have www. in front of page urls etc now which the plugin can process?

In reply to: Do I need to re-install wordpress after moving domains?I was just installing that plugin as you messaged me. I can see how it works so just backing up the site before I give it a go.

In reply to: Do I need to re-install wordpress after moving domains?Hi Ben,
Thanks for that, just checked and some of the pages on my site are broken, obviously the URLs are incorrect after the move. As the site move from subdomain to main domain has already been done I assume I will have to look into how to update the urls?Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: New site in multisite broken linkHi Joseph, thank you for the reply. I took a look at that and as far as I could make out the multisite intall took place, the dashboard shows all the relevant info for creating new sites etc. It is just when I do so I only get a broken link message on the new site dashboard.
Thanks for your help though.Forum: Fixing WordPress
