    Hi @dimitris212

Are these failed orders coming from the same user, or always different ones? Do you believe they might be bots, or your site just got more visitors? Do they have anything in common? Are these orders failed because they initiated payment, but didn’t go through with it, or how exactly a failed order is measured in your case?

If you think they might be bots, first you should check if the users with these failed orders are from users who were registered by Nextend Social Login. It is possible that these users registered through a different method.

You can do this by enabling our “Show linked providers” option on the General tab:
    https://social-login.nextendweb.com/documentation/settings/general-settings/
Then, in the Users table, you will see if the given user (who has failed orders) has any social account linked to them. You will see a new “Social Providers” column that lists what type of account was linked to the WordPress account if it has any. This will also list users who manually linked a social account to their WordPress account, but it is still a great start, especially if such accounts were registered after each other in a short time frame.

Social providers have bot checks when you authorize with them, technically it is possible to bypass these, but a lot of resources over time for not much gain. If the given users have no social accounts linked to them, then if they are bots, they are coming from somewhere else.

If all of them have social accounts linked to them, do these accounts have something in common? e.g. names, email domains, time of registration, origin etc.. Do these accounts do anything else (usually spam or promote) besides having failed orders?

Failed orders could also indicate an issue on the payment provider level, e.g. they might have a country block, or the payment couldn’t go through for some reason, maybe there is an error in the API etc.. You can contact your payment provider, and ask them about this.

As a last resort, you can disable Nextend Social Login, and see what happens afterwards.

    As for the CAPTCHA:
I am not exactly sure where and when you are using this. Are visitors required to pass the test upon arriving the login/register page? Can they register elsewhere? Or is this test presented when the form would be submitted for login/register? The social login provides an alternative way of logging in/registering, so it is possible that your test is completely bypassed, but as I mentioned, most providers are already using anti-bot measures.

    Hi @hdraye

    Thanks for the feedback!

    About your issue:
By default we are using the standard WordPress login page, if you have changed that, you should force Nextend Social Login to handle its flows over other publicly available pages that are not used for anything else, and are excluded from all kinds of caching or other page optimizations.

For this you should check our “Page for register flow” and “Oauth redirect uri proxy page” settings on the General tab:
    https://social-login.nextendweb.com/documentation/settings/general-settings/

If you have further problems, feel free to open a support topic, or contact us directly here:

    Hi @awesomeopp

I have never seen this specific error before, and even now when I made a new App based on our Getting Started guide I could get it verified without any problems.

The App homepage is basically the homepage of your website. For the App Name, what did you set? It should be “South Puget Sound Woodturners”. Basically, it should be the same as your branding title to avoid confusion. You should also check if you have the correct project selected when you request the verification.

    @negotiatoruk
Now I am able to sign up no problem (you can probably see a few recently registered accounts from my tests). Did you manage to figure it out in the meantime?

If the issue is still present, then it is most likely from a 3rd party plugin or custom code that runs on your wp-login page, and intercepts our flow, as by default we use the default wp-login page.
You could do a conflict test by making a backup of your website, then disable your plugins one by one until the error is gone to find out what does it exactly.

Alternatively, you can try and force Nextend Social Login to handle its flows over other pages.
For this you need to use our “OAuth redirect uri proxy page” and “Page for register flow” settings. Both of these can be found in our Global settings > General tab:

and you should configure them in the following way:

    • For the Page for register flow: You should create a new page and add the shortcode into it: [nextend_social_login_register_flow]
then select that page for this setting. Extra information before the registration with social login – like Terms and Conditions, Username, Password, Email – would be asked on this page. ( Make sure you don’t use this page for anything else! )
    • For the OAuth redirect uri proxy page: You should create another new and completely empty page ( that you won’t use for anything else either ) and select it as OAuth redirect uri proxy page. Once it is done, the redirect URL of each configured provider will change, as the OAuth flow will be handled over this new page instead of the /wp-login.php page. So, you will need to add the new redirect URLs into each of your configured Apps again. ( Nextend Social Login will also warn you about this with a message, where you can see all the steps, but actually, you can find the redirect URLs in the Getting Started section of the providers, too. – The redirect URLs are the URLs that usually contain this query string: “?loginSocial=” )

    Hi @negotiatoruk

I get the same problem for Google and X too. I believe the problem is that registration is disabled on your website. By default Nextend Social Login will inherit the membership setting from WordPress (WordPress>Settings>General>Membership – Membership Anyone can register).

If you would like to enable the registration with Nextend Social Login, please navigate to Nextend Social Login>Global Settings>General tab>Membership and set it to Enabled:
    https://nextendweb.com/nextend-social-login-docs/global-settings/
In this way users with social providers will be able to login/register even when the default WordPress membership is disabled.

Why it might have worked for you for Google and X is because you had a WordPress account that either had the social media account linked to it, or there was an email match, so we logged you in, instead of trying to register a new account.

    Hi @websitetalkingheads

    Thanks for your review.

What do you find poor about the documentation? As far as we are aware, you can find everything in the documentation well presented, and you can even search for keywords to find what you are looking for.

But of course if you believe something is missing, or otherwise not documented well enough, you can always open a support topic, or contact us directly:
    https://smartslider3.com/contact-us/support/
    we are happy to help.

I do not fully understand what you mean by “hides features”. You have downloaded the Free version of the plugin, which naturally comes with fewer options, otherwise there would be no reason to have the Pro version. The only reason we can keep updating and supporting the Free version is because there are a lot of generous people who purchase the Pro, and in exchange we decided to have a Free version so people can see what they can get, and still create basic nice sliders even if their budget does not allow to purchase the Pro version. If this wasn’t the case, the Free version would not exist at all.

The plugin definitely has a bit of a learning curve, which is expected in a software like Smart Slider, which allows you to build even advanced sliders without custom code, over a nice GUI, so even if you are not a developer, you can still make some nice sliders. We try to make it as simple and easy to use as possible, but if you are having difficulty using it, as a first step please refer to our YouTube playlists:

    Hi @mdc2957

Meta has shifted to providing their service to businesses, which also means they have stricter guidelines in order to be able to use their APIs.

What you see is them asking how you are using the Facebook Login product on your website, and how they can verify that. You can let them know it is for a social login plugin on your website, which uses the retrieved data to register/update WordPress users on your website, and allows quick login for these accounts, and provide a link where they can view the social login.

They may ask for further information if they cannot verify that you are using their APIs according to their rules, in which case you need to address their problems they mention. Since your App is not verified/public yet, only users that have a specific role set for them in your App can use the Facebook social login. This also means that the given Meta representative may not be able to test the social login. If they ask you for this, you need to provide them with a test account that has a role set for them in your App (e.g. Tester). As of now it is not possible to make test users for new Apps:
    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/development/build-and-test/test-users/
but this ability should be restored if Meta asks for it. You can also try and register a Facebook account manually, and add that to the App in this case, if the ability to create test users is still not possible at that moment.

    Hi @mdc2957

You can probably keep the WooCommerce social login activated if you would like to while you install ours, and setup the providers. But if you want to be sure, it is better to disable it to avoid possible conflicts.

I am not exactly sure how Social Login for WooCommerce works, but for the most part it should work with existing users even without custom coding. This is only really a problem when, as Laszlo mentioned, the user is registered without an email address, or have an account linked to them that has a different email address. In this case our email matching wouldn’t work for these accounts, and we’ll create new ones.

In any case, you should also use your already existing social media apps, just update the needed data (e.g. Redirect URI).

    Kind Regards,
    Robert

I am unfamiliar with that plugin, but as long as they work properly with standard WordPress users, it should be fine. You could test it out for your specific use-case, and see if it works as expected. And if there is a conflict with Nextend Social Login, we could take a look at it.

    Hi @thanosdosis

We register standard WordPress accounts, so just like as if you registered through the standard form on wp-login.php. When someone registers with the social login, they are given a random password by default. So since we register standard WordPress accounts, you will find all their data stored in the “users” table of WordPress. If you want to know which users have a social connection, then we store those in the “social_users” table.

To understand the columns better, here is the description of each column:

    • social_users_id – primary key of the social_users table, with auto-increment
    • ID – this is the User ID of the WordPress account that was linked to the social media account
    • type – identifies the provider the WordPress account has been linked to (it says “fb” if it is a link connected to Facebook)
    • identifier – the unique identifier within the social app ( e.g. the ID of a Facebook user ). We usually use the original social media ID returned by the provider, but in rare cases where the ID is not unique, we have to make it unique with a custom logic ( currently, only the Slack provider has such custom logic).
    • register_date – contains the date when the user registered with a certain provider. (If it is NULL then the user registered with either a traditional registration form or with another social provider )
    • login_date – the date the user logged in the last time
    • link_date – the date when the user linked the social media account to the WordPress account

    Hi @freddyboy377

This issue is not related to Smart Slider, but rather your containers where the slider happens to be added.

The issue is that there is spacing set on the containers, which results in those empty spaces.
    See the attached images:
    https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/yjxwfd3sv9i5wo25yithl/padding.png?rlkey=nqg7o1zipjd46z1lln0l4eslj&st=ygbrimat&dl=0
    https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/a1vl2gr6ultl9z6uorymz/margin.png?rlkey=kpd8x0jyecx8vfmmen68mbh1f&st=wsld1x8e&dl=0

So if you would like to remove these extra spacing, you should find them added in the page builder, and remove them. If you cannot find them there, it is possible your theme adds these inline by default, in which case you can try and look for a theme setting that could be toggled to disable it. You could also override those styles with custom CSS, by setting the margin/padding to 0 on those elements, however please note that custom styling and custom coding in general is outside the scope of our support.

It does not make the problem go away, as it is a Safari related issue.

Where the Pro version might make a difference is that it gives you further Optimize options:
    https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1801-slider-settings-optimize
so you could make your images smaller for example.

If you are interested in this, and have further questions regarding it, please note that this forum does not allow us to provide support for the Pro version, so in this case please rather contact us here:
    https://smartslider3.com/contact-us/support/

    Plugin Support Robert

    (@robertnextendweb)

Yes, that is correct. For example, if in the first step they have e.g. “user@domain.com”, and then connect with Google with “test@gmail.com”, and you override this over our filter to “user@domain.com”, then the WordPress account will be registered with “user@domain.com”, but any time the user connects with Google, with “test@gmail.com”, they will be logged into the WordPress account, because that specific Google account is linked to it.

    (@robertnextendweb)

    Hi @marivsh

For this you could take a look at our actions/filters:
    https://nextendweb.com/nextend-social-login-docs/backend-developer/

We have an example on how to override user data here:
    https://nextendweb.com/nextend-social-login-docs/backend-developer/#modify-userdata
you just need to use the ’email’ key.

So basically, with the “nsl_registration_user_data” filter you can get access to the email address that we would use, and do whatever you need to with that. Some providers either cannot or may not return the email address, in which case by default we would register the user without it, but in your case if you are asking for it in the first step, it should be fine. So you could either make the registration fail (we have an example here: https://nextendweb.com/nextend-social-login-docs/backend-developer/#prevent-registration), or simply modify the email address to the one you requested in the first step. We automatically link the social media account to the WordPress account, so even if the email address of the social media account is different, it could still connect to the WordPress account.

However, please note that this requires developer experience, and custom coding as a whole is outside the scope of our support.

    Hi @groggy72

Yes, if it is a Google font, we can automatically load that:
    https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1828-using-your-own-fonts#google
Or if it is a custom font that is already loading on your website:
    https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1828-using-your-own-fonts#loaded
Or if isn’t loaded yet, as you see here:
