What do you find poor about the documentation? As far as we are aware, you can find everything in the documentation well presented, and you can even search for keywords to find what you are looking for.

I do not fully understand what you mean by “hides features”. You have downloaded the Free version of the plugin, which naturally comes with fewer options, otherwise there would be no reason to have the Pro version. The only reason we can keep updating and supporting the Free version is because there are a lot of generous people who purchase the Pro, and in exchange we decided to have a Free version so people can see what they can get, and still create basic nice sliders even if their budget does not allow to purchase the Pro version. If this wasn’t the case, the Free version would not exist at all.

The plugin definitely has a bit of a learning curve, which is expected in a software like Smart Slider, which allows you to build even advanced sliders without custom code, over a nice GUI, so even if you are not a developer, you can still make some nice sliders. We try to make it as simple and easy to use as possible, but if you are having difficulty using it, as a first step please refer to our YouTube playlists:
