In reply to: [WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan] How to Import IP Blocking listAh Ha…. learning more every day.. so what I am learning here is that if I blacklist the next 10,000 IP’s that get blocked by Cerber… it would not effect the number of new daily attacks… it would only slow down the website loading as each visit would require being checked against an ever growing list of IP’s.
Good to know and more grateful than ever for Cerber.

In reply to: [WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan] How to Import IP Blocking listFirst of all, I don’t want to import a Cerber blacklist from another website, I want to import a csv export of all “IP Blocked” IP’s that i exported from the same website. I just want to be able to export it from the activity list and import it into the blacklist file.
Second.. what to you mean the plugin detects and handles them automatically????? If I understand from previous threads…. if an IP is “blocked” because it violates some rule… after the set time it is released and can once again try hacking into the site. If that IP is not placed then on a blacklist or is not permanently “blocked” how does the plugin “handle them automatically” except to block them again if they once again attempt to hack and get caught?
Perhaps I don’t still understand how Cerber works… but regardless I’d like an explanation that I makes sense to me… thanks

In reply to: [WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan] unblocking IP’sSo, to confirm my new understanding.. there is no difference whatsoever between “Locked Out” and “Blocked IP”. And that IP #s that are “Blocked” by Cerber Security are actually locked out for a time based upon the criteria set down by the user in the Main Settings etc?
Is there a way to permanently block IP#s with this plugin ?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan] unblocking IP’sSo, when I filter activity for IP Blocked, I see almost 1000 IP’s… when I look at the dashboard, I see the red squares you’re referring to but I also see a typical IP tries multiple times to log in to wp-admin, which is cause for an instand IP Block. so I see the locked out icon and I also see each one with the red IP Blocked rectangle….
So.. what does the IP Blocked mean if not that these IP #s are permanently blocked? How is blocked different from locked out and is this client of mine still blocked or not? Cause when I look at all the IP Blocked activity, I see only one IP with the red square to the left of the row.. all the rest no longer have red squares. So are all the rest of the 1000 free to try again?

In reply to: [WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan] unblocking IP’sThere’s only one lockout at this time… and it’s not the one in question. This block occurred yesterday beyond 24 hours ago.
Activity shows it was Locked out … but that lockout expired I guess.I am assuming these IP Blocked references (almost 1000 now) are permanent.. and don’t expire.. right?
The update just released fixed the problem.. thanks for the help
NO Difference whatsoever.

In reply to: [Locatoraid Store Locator] error creating links to sitesThanks but no thanks. Since discovering that Locatoraid adds absolutely nothing of value to the SEO of a website, it makes it pretty useless to me. I’m changing all my Locatoraid using websites to an actual directory theme that adds valuable SEO juice to the website.

In reply to: [Locatoraid Store Locator] error creating links to sitesIt appears that locatoraid may have changed all the settings options on the free version, eliminating most of the important options. Now under “Configuration” all that remains is the choice between miles and kilometers. All the choices about how to display the search page are GONE

In reply to: [Locatoraid Store Locator] error creating links to sitesWell.. I just updated locatoraid and now it displays the correct URL but it doesn’t display the map at all when the page renders and then, when you search, it shows the entire world instead of a map of the actual location searched for. What’s with this plugin? Do I need renew all the settings every time I update it?

In reply to: [Locatoraid Store Locator] Links “do follow” or “no follow”Thanks for the response.. so this brings up another concern I have.. if they are not indexed, then they provide no value as far as SEO is concerned? For example if My Brand had a location in Modesto, California and someone locally searched for
- My Brand Modesto
Google wouldn’t present my website since the Modesto location was only listed in the Locatoraid data and not indexed in any other way. Is this correct?
I added the code as instructed and it did nothing. I used a plugin to get rid of the author and the date but the 0 Comments persisted. any other thoughts?
here’s an example http://happinessnowhypnosis.com/hypnosis-works-perfectly-weight-loss-methods/So, I could wind up having hundreds or even thousands of unique pages and so the same numbers of sidebars?? Wouldn’t that slow down the site? Is that how WP directories do it?
