It started appearing, I think it was a problem with CloudFlare which caches the site, even though I flushed it after making changes, we disabled it and low and behold.

I placed the attributes in Events >Settings > General > Attributes
And also placed it into the events page template under Events > Settings > Formatting,
That does display the attribute and value on the event page, once created, but end users won’t be able to use the wordpress backend dashboard, only the ‘My Events’ > Add new event through Buddypress.
