All of the sites I’ve seen states that the permission needs to be changed but it doesn’t work. Anyone else found a way to fix this issue? Is a new version of WordPress coming out to fix this issue?

I’m also having the same issue and I just updated to 3.9. Does anyone have any updates regarding this issue?
I’m a newbie at this but I’ve followed the instructions on the link. I created a new dir /wordpress in root
copied the files from /var/www to /wordpress
changed the index file to /wordpress/wp-blog-header.php
Now I try to log in using http://www.thewongsituation.com/wp-admin and I get “The requested URL /wordpress/wp-loging.php was not found on this server.”
I’ve also changed the siteurl in phpmyadmin to http://www.thewongsituation.com/wordpress
