updated PHP interpreter and reinstalled hummingbird plugin. All working fine.

I have managed to get back into my site by disabling the hummingbird plugin. I reached out to VaultPress Support who were really helpful- they proposed:

That said, if this is the case, then the next thing I’d do is disable the Hummingbird plugin. You can do this by renaming it’s folder in
/wp-content/plugins/hummingbird-performance to something like “hummingbird-OLD”, or you can completely delete it.-You can do the above either via FTP or your web host’s control panel. If you’re unsure about how to do either, your host’s support should be able to help.
—————–I did this and it worked. I then tried to reinstall teh Hummingbird plugin- exactly the same issue returned. I can onyl think that there has been a recent update. I have removed Hummingbird for now in the hope that the error will be resolved in due course.
