OK, since this was a new website with not much on it, I deleted the entire version of WordPress from the hosting company Cpanel. Then reloaded it and started rebuilding the site, I initially didn’t have any problems until I started creating content on the page that was designated as the static front page, at that point it started giving me the “Page not Found” message.
I then again tried selecting other pages to be the static front page, once I selected a different static page, it no longer showed up. and the other pages would show up.
Never seen this before

The thing is I have reset the Home page to each of the available pages and whatever page is set to the homepage then results in the “Page not found” result. When I change to another page for the home page, then that previous page becomes visible.
As I mentioned I’ve tried several different themes by different developers all with the same result.
I’ve also deactivated all of the plugins and still same result.
Never had this happen before
