Thanks Jonradio:)
It must have been a weird hosting issue, because my host fixed it…though they didn’t tell me how:) So never mind friends!
Ooooh sorry, didn’t realize it was a faux pas :X

In reply to: Can't get dreamweaver and MAMP server to work together!Makes me wonder why Adobe charges an arm and a leg if they aren’t going to support their software… Anyone else out there in wordpress land have any luck? ๐
Forum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: Can't get dreamweaver and MAMP server to work together!Hi Jose! Thanks for your reply. I did my initial set up following a similar tutorial from adobe:
http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2014/01/how-to-set-up-wordpress-in-dreamweaver.html
There really seems to be no real reason why my set up isn’t working. The more I search, the more it seems like people have a ton of difficulty getting wordpress and dreamweaver to play with each other.
I am in fact in a dreamweaver class at college, and this issue boggles my professor as well. I’d love to use my dreamweaver skills to edit wordpress themes, as it has been something I’ve been interested in for years, but so far I’m pretty frustrated! Has anyone out there gotten dreamweaver to play nice with their local wordpress site?

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Loved it until it didn't work :(Hi Paul! I didn’t file a support ticket because it crashed more than one siteโthree if I remember correctlyโso I took the attitude that it wasn’t me ๐ And that I had to get new backup software ๐
It’s too bad that such a great feature has this glitch. I really hope there is a solution out there! Has anyone else had any luck?

Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: trouble with permalinksyou presume correctly:) I tried /%postname%/ and /archives/%post_id%, but had to revert back to the original permalink (something like http://www.xxx.com/?p=123
I figured those first two options–since supplied by the settings panel itself, should work, but they do not ๐

In reply to: trouble with permalinksNo, I’m not getting any messages at all. Everything seems fine until I try and look at my webpage, and then everything except the homepage doesn’t work ๐
Any ideas?
Thank you very much Esmi for your patience with a newbie like me. I will look into this and report back! Hopefully this will work!
By the way, the active theme I have right now is Twenty Eleven 1.3, and only other inactive theme is Twenty Ten 1.3. Do you reckon it is one or both of the themes that are corrupted?
Thanks so much, you have no idea how grateful I am!
Dear esmi,
Again, thank you for your response. At the risk of sounding idiotic: I have looked everywhere on my actual hard drive and in my wordpress dashboard for said promised folders; I am not sure where they live. Again, sorry to be so slow.
I did try to delete the theme Twenty-Ten from the themes menu, with the intent to install it afresh; however, even though the prompt told me that I had deleted it, when I went to reinstall Twenty-Ten, it said I already had it installed.
If you could tell me where these folders live, I would be so grateful.
Thanks so much!
