Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Cannot edit pages since upgrade to 4.3I am having the same problem as outlined by “otusleaf9” in post No. 3.
Approximately 2 weeks ago I followed Otto’s procedure and (with a little massaging from our host provider) we got back online. This morning WordPress “automatically” updated our site to 4.3.1. Since then we can not edit any previous posts. We can commence a new post but as soon as we try to Save or Publish the new post, the material in the edit window disappears and we cannot return to the post to “edit” it. Serious issue! I have tried Firefox and IE with no difference. The site loads ok and nothing is missing – but we cannot use the Dashboard as described above. Site is http://www.mavensnotebook.com

GoDaddy-ADMIN had to remove the excessive System Processes – They could not deleted from within their utility.
So far so good – Hope Otto’s fix works – and holds . . .Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Customizr] Slider Not ScrollingHad to re-install complete Customizr again. Site working again – FYI, that change does not work! and just replacing the file does not fix the problem – complete theme must be re-installed via FTP.

In reply to: [Customizr] Slider Not ScrollingI lied – it failed again :
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class TC_slider in /home/content/58/12138658/html/wp-content/themes/customizr/parts/class-header-slider.php on line 15
HELP!
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Customizr] Slider Not ScrollingJust had a very frustrating hour+! I attempted to make the change per ElectricFeet’s suggestion to disable the “Pause” completely by editing class-header-slider.php . FYI – I had updated the theme about a week ago so I had been using version 3.0.14.
The change blew up the site. I could not get back into the site NOR the WordPress Login. I could not “fix” the problem by replacing the modified file with the backup of the file that I had performed just before the edit. I had to download (and re-install – via FTP) the complete theme (Ver. 3.0.14). The site is now working again.
I then made the change again to class-header-slider.php but there is no difference. The cursor still “pauses” the slider. At least the site is still working but I am nervous – at best.
Can someone confirm that the change to class-header-slider.php that ElectricFeet suggested actually works with Version 3.0.14. I suspect that the change was originally done on Version 3.0.8.
If I can remove the “pause” , that will suffice for the moment.
Thanks in advance . . .

In reply to: [Customizr] Slider Not ScrollingThank you for responding, rdellconsulting.
I think perhaps we are missing something here. While removing all or any of the plug-ins may be an interesting exercise, and I’ll try it to satisfy both of us, I strongly suspect that it will not make any difference for the following reason:
The “pause” is intentional. By design, hovering the cursor over the slider causes the slider to pause – ANYTIME – including at initial launch. I understand that and it is doing just exactly that. I’m not suggesting that there is an error in the program, rather a condition that (to a novice – specifically my client) it appears that the slider is not working when they first launch the site AND the cursor coincidentally happens to be hovering on the slider box – therefore causing the slider to “Pause”.
What I am requesting is a suspension of the pause until the slider has FIRST moved, then initiate the pause routine. This way the slider will always be active upon launch and then may be paused AFTER that time as/if desired.
IMHO, Jetpack is a very standard plug-in and I would be quite concerned if the Customizr theme is not compatible with it. I am using Jetpack to develop a gallery on this site and I would prefer not to remove it.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Customizr] Slider Not ScrollingI have just discovered that I am experiencing the same problem. If the site launches AND the mouse cursor happens to be on the slider, the slider does not start. If the cursor is NOT on the slider, the slider works OK. Removing the “pause” altogether (as suggested by ElectricFeet)is not an appropriate solution. Can the pause be suspended until AFTER the FIRST time the slider is activated, ie. at launch – then activate the “pause” routine? Or perhaps the order in which the “pause” in loaded into the theme could be moved later in the launch process? I am not using any widgets. I have the following Plug-ins activated: Akismet, Go Daddy Quick Setup (probably not necessary), Jetpack, Regenerate Thumbnails, Welcome to WordPress (probably not necessary), WordPress SEO and WP-Optimize – all current versions as of 12/07/13. WordPress version 3.7.1. Site address is http://www.justbeautifulinteriors.com.

In reply to: [Customizr] Social Media icons do not display after theme updateThanks for responding so quickly, Nikeo.
If I access the site using joann.bikesandbytes.com/ the first(3) icon images do not display initially. Btw, the last (4th) icon/image (for Houzz.com)is “forced” in the functions.php file. I tried removing that – but it also made no difference.
If I access the site using bikesandbytes.com/joann all (4) icon images display correctly immediately.
I just tried this on a completely different computer – that had never accessed either of these addresses, but it still did the same thing???

In reply to: [Customizr] Social Media icons do not display after theme updateSorry, change the access to the NON-sub-domain address to: bikesandbytes.com/joann/ – that works better . . .
