Thanks for the screenshots.
Can you activate Cloudflare developer mode and test Boost then? That’ll help figure out whether to look at Cloudflare more closely or WP Fastest Cache.
Hi @lklawless!
Can you try deactivating Cloudflare firewall on your site? It may be blocking the CSS generation because your browser is making a lot of requests when CSS is being generated.
Sure thing – send them to JetpackBoost@automattic.com and add a link back to this thread.
Hi @thiayo – can you let us know which pages exactly the issue is happening on?
If you want to remove the domain – feel free to do so, but the path after the domain might help us solve the issue.
Can you temporarily activate the plugin so that I can see the issue live on your site?
When generating CSS, a lot of requests are made to your site to open each page, generate the CSS and compare it to other pages.
So I’d say that the solution for this is to set-up your firewall in a way that allows you to make a lot of requests rapidly.
I’m not sure if there’s a Cloudflare setting that you can use to set that up. At the very least – I think you should be able to “Enable Developer Mode” on your Cloudflare domain when generating Critical CSS – and disable it when the CSS is done generating.
We’ve released a couple updates related to issues like this – so it might be that this was solved with those updates as well.
Feel free to start a new support thread if the issue comes back or anything new comes up.
Thanks for helping us improve the plugin 🙂
Have you cleared out all the caches on your site?
Also – PageSpeed scores may vary from test to test, so I’d recommend running the PageSpeed measuring tools multiple times to see what level of variation is natural for your site.
You can send us the URL to JetpackBoost@automattic.com and please include a link to this forum thread as well.
Thanks for trying out Jetpack Boost by the way – we just released recently and all support requests like this help us improve quickly 👍
Hi Maria,
Thanks for reporting the issue!
I tried wpDiscuz out with Jetpack Boost and the plugin seems to work – I can post and view comments. Are there any steps I should take to reproduce the issue?
Hey @mimonirbd !
If you disable something on your site and nothing changes – it’s very likely that something is cached. It may be a WordPress caching plugin or at a service level like Cloudflare.
Jetpack Boost doesn’t change anything at that level – so if your score is still low without Jetpack Boost active and your cache is cleared – perhaps it wasn’t Boost that decreased your score in the first place 🙂 ?
Can you share a few details with me?
* What was your mobile pagespeed score before activating Jetpack Boost?
* What was your mobile pagespeed score after activating Jetpack Boost?
* Which modules did you activate?
* What is your page URL?Hi @fkranjce1!
We’ve deployed improvements in version 1.0.2 that should fix the issue.
Please update the plugin, then purge any caches that you might have (WordPress cache, Cloudflare cache, etc) and try logging in to your site in an incognito window (to prevent browser cache from interfering) and try it out.
Let me know if the issue is solved!
Cheers!
Since we’ve fixed the HTTP 500 errors, I’ll mark this as solved.
If you encounter any other issues, please don’t hesitate to open a new support forum topic.
Thanks!
Wonderful! 🙂
Hey @acekin!
Can you take screenshots of all your caching settings (all plugins, Cloudflare, etc.) so that I can set-up a test environment like yours? That would be a ton of help to deal with this 🙂
Deactivate the option for now and we’ll let you know when that’s fixed. It’s a known issue.
