Hi @sqrtarq,
The errors you’re seeing seems to be related to this issue where caching, CDN, or security settings are preventing Yoast SEO files from loading.
Does clearing your cache from caching plugins, the server, a CDN like Cloudflare, or the browser resolve the issue?
Hi @nasimesabet,
It looks like there might be a plugin or theme conflict.
We’ll need a bit more information, so we’d like you to take the following steps:
1. Check to make sure that you’re using the latest version of Yoast SEO, 16.3.
2. Check for JavaScript errors in the browser console. If you find any, please send us a link to a screenshot.
3. Check for conflicts. Does the problem happen if you deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a default theme like Twenty Twenty?
Hi Mike,
Sorry to hear that the breadcrumbs aren’t displaying in the correct language. We do know that WPML should be compatible with Yoast SEO.
Just to make sure everything’s set up correctly, can you confirm that you’ve installed and configured all the WPML required plugins like Yoast SEO Multilingual and all your plugins are up-to-date?
WPML has a guide available here: Optimize multilingual sites using Yoast SEO and WPML.
Hi @twillswp,
Sorry to hear that the configuration wizard isn’t starting. If you’ve already configured your site once before, you don’t have to worry because your settings have been saved.
To help us troubleshoot, we’d like to get the following information:
1. Are all your plugins and themes updated? If not, does updating solve the problem?
2. Are you using the latest version of Yoast SEO (16.2)? If not, does updating solve the problem?
3. Check for JavaScript errors in the console.
4. Does clearing your cache from caching plugins, the server, a CDN like Cloudflare, or the browser resolve the issue? If you are not sure how to clear the cache from a plugin, please contact the plugin author. If you’d like to clear the cache from the server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from a browser, use this guide: How to clear your browser’s cache.`
Hi @xroox,
The best way to get data from Yoast SEO is to use the provided APIs like the Yoast Surfaces API and the Yoast Schema API.
For example, to get the meta description for any post, you can use the following:
$yoast_meta = YoastSEO()->meta->for_current_page()->description;.If you’d like Yoast SEO to add LocalBusiness data to your schema data for you instead of adding custom code, that’s available as a feature in the Local SEO premium add-on.
Hi @dankobler,
1. Thanks for more information. It looks like you have added snippet variables for this specific category in the category’s edit screen, so this should override any default template set under SEO > Search Appearance > Taxonomies.
In the page source, there is no meta description, so Yoast SEO isn’t recognizing the changes that you’ve made.

If that doesn’t help, it may be a good idea to check for conflicts by temporarily deactivating all plugins except for Yoast SEO and switching to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-One.
2. The SEO and Readability scores are calculated when you edit the content on your pages.
If the dot remains gray, that usually means that there isn’t any content to scan. Do you have any content in the category description or warnings under the Readability tab that gives more details?
If you visit the edit screen or update the category description for the other categories, do the scores appear in the overview screen?
Hi @paulherrmann,
Thanks for confirming that. This is a strange problem, so we have a few more questions about your site:

2. Can you let us know how you added the breadcrumbs to your site?
3. We noticed that the posts that seem to have the wrong breadcrumbs are marked as noindex (not appearing in search results). Does changing this setting and updating the page have any effect on the breadcrumbs?
4. Check your PHP error log for any error messages related to Yoast SEO. Do any appear?
You can do this by enabling WordPress debugging or contact your web host.
Hi @ohyeahz,
Thanks for your patience and for getting back to us. It sounds like different types of errors are happening, but not consistently on different servers. Since we haven’t received the same reports from other WPML users, these errors seem like something specific to your site setup. We’d like to try and gather as much information as possible to find a solution but are unable to do so on these forums.
If you’d like us to get access to your site and take a closer look, you’re welcome to purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.
Please note that this includes a 30-day refund period that you can use if we’re not able to solve the problem or if you’re not satisfied with the premium version.

Hi @araminho,
The error doesn’t give us enough information about how this might be related to Duplicate Post. Does it help to do a conflict check by deactivating plugins and changing themes?
Troubleshooting custom code is a bit out of the scope of the support that we can offer, unfortunately. We recommend contacting a WordPress developer who can review your specific site and give you more guidance.
If your WordPress version is up-to-date and is using the latest version of Yoast SEO , please try the following steps to reindex the SEO data on your site:
- Install and activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
- Go to Tools -> Yoast Test
- Click the “Reset indexables and migrations” button
- Go to SEO -> Tools and under “Optimize SEO Data” click the “Start SEO data optimization” button.
For sites with more than 10,000 posts, we’d advise using the WP CLI command to do the indexation on the server instead of going to SEO > Tools. You can read more about this here: WP CLI – Reindex Indexables command
Does the error still appear?`
Hi @uninvolved,
From what we understand, this notification appears when you have WordPress major core updates enabled, but not Yoast SEO. If you dismiss it, the value should be saved so that it won’t appear again.
We weren’t able to reproduce the problem. Can you share more details about your settings?
Can you also test to see if you see this notification and whether you can dismiss it if you deactivate Easy Updates Manager temporarily?
Hi @hype123,
Sorry to see that the image you’d like to see as the Facebook image isn’t appearing. Have you set your desired image as the featured image for the page or did you set it as the Facebook image under the Social tab in the Yoast SEO metabox?
We noticed in the page source that there are multiple og:image meta tags on the page. See the screenshot. Does removing these tags solve the problem?
Hi @tegid,
If you have a similar issue and the workaround doesn’t help to solve the problem, you’re welcome to open a new issue.
