I would advise you to save yourself more headaches and potential problems down the track by using that theme and just switch to another theme from a reputable developer. There are plenty of high quality free and premium GPL themes available.

You might want to consider using more of a “bush” colour scheme (rather than the aqua background) to match your topic. You can always change themes in the future if you find something you like more.
