In reply to: help for new portalLooks pretty good. Not sure if the color selector on the side is necessary though. Might be a bit distracting?

In reply to: new site for reviewNice clean design. My only comment would be the typography used for the titles with shadow effect makes them a bit hard to read and doesn’t really match with the clean crisp design.

In reply to: What Theme is this Website Using? That is not a WordPress site, but you could probably make something similar with PageLines http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/pagelines
Or this theme http://richwp.com/themes/premium-wordpress-themes/biz/Forum: Your WordPress
In reply to: Simplastic themeAs explained in that article “we’ll see responsive themes becoming the norm, rather than a novelty”
Responsive design is the future of web design, especially considering its now Googles recommended configuration for building smartphone optimised websites. http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/recommendations-for-building-smartphone.htmlForum: Your WordPress
In reply to: Simplastic themeThere are lots of mobile responsive WordPress themes around already and most will go that way in the future. See how the default Twenty Eleven theme works for example, and all the responsive themes here http://www.premiumwp.com/best-responsive-wordpress-themes/

In reply to: Switching Themes???Why not just use some drop down menus to reduce the clutter of menu items?

In reply to: PageLines ProblemAccess your site via FTP and remove the theme. WordPress will revert back to use the default theme and you should be able to get into the dashboard again.

In reply to: Simplastic themeI guess good design is a subjective, personal thing. The textured background, thin widget headers, unstyled typography and rounded corners make it feel a bit dated for me. But that’s just my opinion.
Yes it scales down to about 800px but no smaller than that. So it doesn’t adapt to display properly on smartphones etc which is what’s needed in a true responsive layout.
All the best

In reply to: Finding a Theme. Help!Sounds like you want to do a lot of things “full website”, “blog”, “online store”….but it’s not clear exactly what style of theme / layout etc you are looking for, so it’s difficult to recommend specific themes. Things like changing header images, backgrounds, fonts etc can be modified pretty easily in any theme. Ecommerce / online store functionality can be added to a theme with the various ecommerce plugins available, but would require a bit more work to set up.
There are theme frameworks like PageLines, Headway etc which can be made into a lot of things which might be work looking at.

In reply to: PageLines ProblemAre you referring to the free version from here: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/pagelines or the commercial version from pagelines.com?

In reply to: Simplastic themeGood effort, but to be honest the design is rather dated. There are problems with adaptive / responsive design of the theme as it doesn’t work properly on small windows sizes.
