Hi @jonathandejong @martinneumannat ,
I also have an issue as well with the extra author dropdown, but only if I use the plugin as a widget.
Hi @andergmartins ,
Thanks for the update, I’ve updated our development and staging environments with the beta update.
I’ll let you know how testing goes.
Thanks again for all the hard work, really appreciate it.
Awesome @stevejburge , thanks very much.
Please let me know if you need our assistance in testing any updates.
Hi @stevejburge ,
I installed the v3.14.5-rc.1 version in our development environment, and had our content producers test.
Following are their findings:
I'm seeing very little difference compared to the last version. After the initial test with our child theme active, I deactivated all other plug-ins other than SSO and switched to the Twenty-Twenty theme. For both standard posts and custom post types, top byline/ post-author meta-text pulls from the default author set in PublishPress Authors settings (seems to be author associated with the post upon Add New Post). Author bio at the bottom of the page is the guest author selected for the post. Image displays on standard posts and no image displaying on custom post types. Editing the post reverts the author field to the default from PublishPress Author settings. The WordPress dashboard for all posts displays the last selected PublishPress Author and mapped user fallback.Hi @stevejburge ,
Awesome, thanks very much.
I’m going to install it now, and have our content authors test.
I’ll let you know the results soon.
Thanks again
Hi @stevejburge ,
My firewall will not allow access to the link in your post.
My workplace has severe restrictions on what links we are allowed to access safely.
Is it possible to deploy the pre release version to github, I do have access to that ?
Unfortunately Dropbox or Google Drive is not allowed either.
I apologize for making this so difficult
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Hi @andergmartins ,
The problems we are seeing with Publish Press and Gutenberg:
* Adding a new post
– the only author displayed, no matter how many are added, is the “Default author for new posts” that is assigned in the plugins settings
* Custom Post Types
– default author assigned in plugin settings never works
– when adding authors who are wordpress registered and guest authors, only the wordpress registered author is assigned
– whenever you go back to change to another author, only the original assigned author is displayedHi @nmottet and @andergmartins , we are also on WordPress 5.8 and Publishpress authors Version 3.14.4.
We have experienced similar issues as described here.
The top byline only fills in with the default author.
It appears that the author metadata is not updating.
These issues exist with the 2020 theme.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
