In reply to: [Media Tags] [Plugin: Media Tags] Page with Media Tags fails to loadThe short code uses many of the same arguments for the get_posts WordPress function http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/get_posts
So try adding the argument ‘numberposts’ as in
// Shows only the first 100 items.
[media-tags media_tags=”2012″ numberposts=”100″]or
// Setting ‘numberposts’ to -1 means show all. No limit
[media-tags media_tags=”2012″ numberposts=”-1″]Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Media Tags] [Plugin: Media Tags] Page with Media Tags fails to loadThere is no clean install option. Media-Tags just creates terms like you have Post Categories and Post Tags. So a cleaning would just mean deleting all Media-Tag term. Look under the Media menu option.
As for the memory issue this is controlled by your hosting. When you call the short code it attempts to build an array off found items tagged with that term. How many images do you have which are tagged ‘ff-test’ Try using the ‘numberposts’ short code parameter to limit the output.
Also, you might try upping your allowed memory for PHP on your hosting.
The three tables are wp_terms, wp_term_relationship and wp_term_taxonomy. Good luck. Let me know if I can help with things related to Media-Tags.
Jim, I would recommend NOT to directly add entries to the table via SQL. For each term/taxonomy there are three table which complete the relationship. Might be better to just use the WordPress taxonomy function. Up to you.
Jim,
Thanks for the notes. I can’t say that I know how this became in that state on your system. The Media-Tags plugin uses the standard WordPress functions to add/edit/delete Media-Tags Taxonomy terms just like is used for post tag and categories.
In the Media-Tag code I don’t enforce uniqueness meaning I don’t check that a new Media-Tags term is not already a category or post_tag. Internally that term and the Media-Tags Taxonomy information is handled discretely.
I’ll try and duplicate this on my test environments.
Best,
P-

In reply to: [Simply Exclude] [Plugin: Simply Exclude] deprecated function callThanks Jeff. I’ll be sure to include it in an upcoming update to the code.
Yes, of course the better solution is to patch the official released code. But as the Google XML plugin is also still in beta that will have to wait.

In reply to: [Simply Exclude] simply-exclude\simplyexclude.php on line 1449I will need to patch the code for this. In the mean time you might want to turn off warning on your site. Just a note a warning is informational and not an error.
Hmm, Sorry to hear there is a fatal error. Best option for you is to edit the simplyexclude.php file and comment out the lines 2069-2074
if (is_file(WP_PLUGIN_DIR . ‘/google-sitemap-generator/sitemap-core.php’))
{
include (WP_PLUGIN_DIR. ‘/google-sitemap-generator/sitemap-core.php’);
$simplyexclude->GA_generatorObject = new GoogleSitemapGenerator();
$simplyexclude->GA_generatorObject->LoadOptions();

In reply to: [Simply Exclude] Simply Exclude With Custom Post TypesSheya, no the Simply Exclude plugin does not currently support Custom Post Taxonomies. I’ve started working on this logic some time ago but dropped it to focus on other projects. I’ll hopefully be adding this in early 2012.

In reply to: [Simply Exclude] [Plugin: Simply Exclude] Manage Page ExclusionsBecause that really is the only option for Pages. See pages do not have archives, tags, categories, etc. Sure you can add these options via some custom logic but generally in the default WordPress setup Pages do not have taxonomies associated with them.
As for the front page you control a pages view on the home page view Settings > Reading. So having an option under Simply Exclude to not show a page on the front is not needed. Since this is already controlled from WordPress.

In reply to: [Media Tags] [Plugin: Media Tags] Grabbing tags based upon post attached toFirst you should realize that Media-tags like Post tags are NOT hierarchical. Unlike post categories which are.
As part of the plugin I provide the template function the_mediatags() which operates much like the WordPress function the_tags() which will print out a comma-serparated list of tags for the current $post in a Loop.
If instead you want to access the raw PHP list and not the HTML you can call the a WordPress function yourself which is:
$terms = get_the_terms( $id, $taxonomy );
Where $id is the post ID and $taxonomy would be ‘media-tags’ or better just MEDIA_TAGS_TAXONOMY which is a define for ‘media-tags’. The terms returned would be an array of media-tag terms. You would then need to write your own code to loop through this array and output your term in whatever format.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the mod. I’ve not had a chance to review. But plan to soon. Thanks.

In reply to: "Exlcude" Plugins cause posts to display in wrong orderKaseyS
Yeah, that was going to be what my advice would be. I would like to add some debug code which dumps the wp_query on the home page. This wp_query object contains all the parameters setup for the actual SQL query as well as the actual SQL query. So would be nice to see what is setting things.

In reply to: "Exlcude" Plugins cause posts to display in wrong orderNo worries. Ok. Some followup questions:
1. Have you tried cloning your site to a local system using MAMP or some other LAMP stack to see if this issue is repeatable? Thinking this would remove the variable of the server configuration. In theory if this is code related then cloning the site should reproduce the issue.
2. In my initial reply, I provided the simple function to add to your theme’s functions.php file. Have you tried deactivated the Simply Exclude plugin and try adding that function? Note you will need to update the category IDs.
3. If all else fails any chance at getting access to your system. Or maybe easier would you be willing to add some debug code to your site to output information that might help narrow this issue down?
Let me know.
