In reply to: [Media Tags] [Plugin: Media Tags] request: search by multiple media tags@mcdonna, Unfortunately that is mostly controlled by WordPress core. But I will give it some thinking. Might come up with something. Thanks for the tip.
So just to be clear. If I’m on the ‘Media Library’ tab of the popup. I might be able to add an additional search option.

In reply to: [Simply Exclude] [Plugin: Simply Exclude] brokenI would appreciate more details than just to say it is ‘broken’. The plugin is very complicated for some. Maybe you are not using it correctly. What information are you trying to Include/Exclude. Work with me here so I can improve this plugin. It does work but for some there are issue with the theme or implementation.

In reply to: [Media Tags] [Plugin: Media Tags] media tags archive template@gulflee, sorry for the delay in response. The current version o Media-Tags does not follow standard convention on the template hierarchy. Mainly because Media-Tags was written a few versions before the core support. I do plan to correct this in upcoming versions.
For now you need to name your templates as
mediatags-<term>.php where ‘<term> is your archive term like ‘flowers’, ‘books’, etc.
Also, by default if your theme has an archive.php template it will be used by default.

In reply to: [Media Tags] [Plugin: Media Tags] 2 Media tags input boxes are displaying@harpinder, Not sure. I suspect the first input field it from another plugin. Since my Media-Tags plugin seems to be very popular many authors are cloning it and using the registered taxonomy. Try disabling your other plugins one by one.

In reply to: [Media Tags] [Plugin: Media Tags] request: search by multiple media tags@mcdonna. How are you performing the search? You didn’t specific if this was to be used in the admin area trying to located image or via the shortcode or template functions.
When using the shortcodes and/or template function there are two key parameters to use:
media_tags – Use this to defined the media-tags you are searching for. For example.
media_tags=”something1,something2″tags_compare – Use this to tell the ‘media_tags’ how the items should be compare. Values are ‘OR’ and ‘AND’. Default is ‘OR’.

In reply to: [Simply Exclude] [Plugin: Simply Exclude] Problem with pages@bgunsberger The Pages search exclude/include does work as designed. I just double checked this on my local development site.
My setup:
WordPress latest version
Simply-Exclude: 2.0.5
Theme: default TwentyEleven
Under Simply Exclude Settings for Pages I have the following
http://screencast.com/t/QvFqjnH5wJaOn the Pages listing in wp-admin I’ve randomly selected a few pages to exclude. Works.
Change the setting from ‘Exclude’ to ‘Include only’. Now only checked pages are showing for the search results.
What is your setup? You may have an issue with your theme. In the Simply Exclude Settings Pages section there is a new option for ‘Query Filtering’. By default only the main loop is filtered. You might try setting this to all loops to see if your issue is resolved.
This is part of the user roles/capabilities. Get a roles management plugin from the wordpress repository then you can grant certain users the ability to ‘manage_options’ which is how Simply-Exclude sets the main nav options.

In reply to: [Simply Exclude] [Plugin: Simply Exclude] WordPress iOS App (XML-RPC) excludeI will need to check the code. The Simply Exclude is support to only filter on the main page loop. Somehow I bet there is a flag when process XML-RPC with is not being checked by the plugin.

In reply to: [Simply Exclude] [Plugin: Simply Exclude] Stopped working for some reasonto you both please try the latest beta. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2616987/projects/wp-plugins/simply-exclude/simply-exclude-2.0.4Beta1.zip
The plugin does work but there is some issues depending on the theme. The major issue is some themes rework the main Loop. This seems to be especially true for the home page. The themes seems to just run their own query.
The plugin was designed to only effect the main query (wp_query) for the page. So that other queries like those for nav and other sections of the page would not automatically be effects.
The 2.0.4 beta 1 has an option on the simply Exclude > Settings panel for each Taxonomy. This option will let you filter the main query only or all queries.
Please give this a try and reply back here.
Alright how about my own site
http://www.codehooligans.com/packages/simply-exclude-2.0.4Beta1.zipWould appreciate a review of the beta for 2.0.4 This version explicitly checks for the function ‘is_main_query’.

I’ve also added a new UI panel on the Settings page. The plugin was designed to only filter on the main page loop. So it will be default ignore the nav, wp_list_pages, and other template queries.
Ok. here is what I don’t understand. The is_main_query is wrapped with the correct version_compare logic. The code section is below. So the IF is supposed to trap those versions lower than ‘3.3.0’ and direct then to the else part.
if ( version_compare( $wp_version, ‘3.3.0’, ‘<‘ ) ) {
global $wp_the_query;
if ($wp_the_query !== $query)
return $query;
} else {
if (!is_main_query())
return $query;
}I’ve tested this on my own wp 3.2 and 3.2.1 and works as expected. Strange.
Thanks for the full details of the error. I have some other changes from users today and will be including this fix in the upcoming release. Can I ask that you beta test the code before I submit to the WordPress repo??
Please provide more information about how you are using the plugin. Also what other plugins you are running.
