Thanks for providing the shortcode and web page link.

There are two thing

1) You have to pass category ID as a shortcode parameter.

2) It looks like that there is a special character issue in shortcode. Generally this happens when we copy the shortcode and paste it into WordPress editor.

So double quotes are converted to special character. Please remove the double quote and add it manually.

Below is the correct shortcode. I have checked your webpage and found that “Novice” has a category ID 5.

You can find the category ID in the admin page URL when you edit it.

Can your custom code snippet be a reason of category parameter not working? May be it affecting to plugin query also? I am not sure but you can check.

I have checked both the parameter at my end and they are working properly.

It looks like that there is a problem of double quote in shortcode parameters. They are converted to special character.

Generally this happens when we copy the shortcode and paste it into WordPress editor then double quote are converted to special character and because of that parameter does not work.

Please try to remove the double quote and add it manually. I hope it will work for you.

Ans – I have checked your screenshot and yes, It is a WordPress built-in functionality of “Sticky Post”.

Sticky Posts is a feature that places a post at the top of the front page of posts, keeping it there until new sticky posts are published.

Plugin does not have a sticky post feature in a lite version.

2) I did add right category. do you recommend to use single quote?

Ans – This is very strange. It should work. I have checked on my side and it is working perfectly. I have also checked the code.

I have again tried to look at your web page but it is not working. It says “The page isn’t redirecting properly”

or do you know some incompatibility with Unyson pagebuilder ?

Are you using this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/unyson/ ? So I can check with it.

For your query,
1) still see the 3 lasts posts but not the featured ones…
Ans – In lite version there is no functionality of Featured post. The checkbox you are referring may be a part of another functionality.

May be a theme or any other third party plugin.

Can you please send me the rough screenshot of checkbox setting?

2) And If I check better, I limited to the cat ID 1 and the slider gets from others categories as well.

Ans – Category parameter will work for you. Make sure you have added right category ID.

Also please take care of double quote in shortcode parameter category="1". Sometime what happen when we copy the shortcode and paste it into WordPress editor then double quotes are converted to special character and because of it the parameter will not work.

Please remove the double quote and add it manually. I will work for you 🙂

OK So It is coming from your theme not from “News & Blog Designer Pack” plugin. I don’t know how your theme is coded.

You can ask to your theme author about this. They will help you in this.
