In reply to: [WordPress Related Posts] HELP Problem MANY Processes in wp-cron.phpHey,
thanks for reaching out – those events should happen only once (that is kind of the purpose of wp_cron), after you have installed the plugin and the plugin checks posts for thumbnails (for every thumbnail, one event) and such. Is this still happening (it will for new posts)?
Looking forward to your reply and sorry for the inconvenience,
PetraHey Josh,
thanks for reaching out! Yes, you can do that by putting those posts you don’t want for related posts showing up in a certain category and then in the plugin settings exclude that category (go to “Settings”-> “WordPress Related Posts”-> “Advanced Settings”-> “Other Settings” and finally “Exclude these Categories:” tick the box next to your category).
Let me know how it goes, take care and enjoy the day,

In reply to: [WordPress Related Posts] Why hundreds of different size thumbs?Hey,
sorry for the long delay. I have tried everything: installed the plugins that usually create this issues (All in one SEO, WPTouch, Broken Link Checker,…), used featured images, custom fields, custom size thumbnails, uploading the file, inserting it via link,… The problem is that you get really weird sizes that our plugin would never create on its own: 40×39, 12×40…this one felt like something needed for mobile but unfortunately I could only do tests with the free version of WPTouch and couldn’t create any duplicates with it. Not saying it is WPTouch fault, just the first thing that pops to mind with such small sizes. Then I tried changing the thumbnail sizes that WP creates by default (via Settings->Media), which we then use for posts, still nothing. I even tried using different but still standard WP themes. Nothing.
I am running out of ideas to be honest. BTW – what kind of names do these duplicate/new images/thumbnails get?Take care and enjoy Monday,

In reply to: [WordPress Related Posts] Related Posts are all from the same authorHey,
thanks for reaching out – I have checked out that link and unfortunately couldn’t find (y)our related posts. Have you removed the plugin? As far as your issue goes, if I understand you correctly then I am afraid the plugin works as it should. It gives you the most related posts by relevance not by author. But you can manually change those via the orange “Edit Related Posts” button.
Hope this helps, take care and have an amazing day,
PetraHey,
thanks for reaching out – would it be possible to give me a link to your blog so that I can take a closer look?

In reply to: [WordPress Related Posts] WRP duplicate image after the last updateHey,
thanks for reaching out! I have tried to replicate this issue, with no success. I used featured images, custom fields, custom size thumbnails, uploading the file, inserting it via link…still no duplicates. So, I really need your help on this one:
Would you be so kind and give me a link to your blog?
Also from what version (if you can recall) have you updated to 3.5.3? What is your WP version?
Which browser do you use?
Do you have any special way of inserting the images? Can you describe it?
(links, uploads, any special media gallery plugins, as featured images)Really sorry for all these questions, but we need to get to the bottom of this. Appreciate all the help/info I can get.
Have an amazing Monday,

In reply to: [WordPress Related Posts] Related posts home pageHey,
sorry to keep you waited – the content.php won’t do :(. Is it possible to make me a temporary account on your blog, so that I can take a closer look. If not, can you copy/paste the content (if you have that file) of index.php? Can you make a screenshot of the theme’s files (it will be quicker this way)?
Once again, sorry for the late reply, take care and have an amazing day,

In reply to: [WordPress Related Posts] loader from wprp.zemanta.comHey @gadelkareem
thanks for getting back to me but unfortunately without any data our algorithm can’t create those related posts (thumbnails, title, excerpt,..) and suggest related articles for you. If you wish you can read more about it here and here.
If you have any other questions or need help in any way, please let me know – I will gladly help.
Have an amazing Monday,
Petra
