  • Thanks for getting back to me!

The issue here is, that yes – if the !important is used it is difficult to override it. But usually you can edit/change related posts via the CSS file in wordpress (to some extent), although we do not support this. Any special reason why you do not won’t to change them in their own plugin settings via the custom CSS box?

Take care and have a lovely Monday,
    Petra

    Hey,

    thanks for reaching out!
Sure, you can change the fonts via the custom CSS – if you need help, please give me a link to your blog, so that I can take a closer look (also, which font you wish to use and what size).

    Yes, tags are used 🙂

    Looking forward to your reply,
    Petra

    Hey,

    thanks for reaching out!

Would it be possible to explain what you are trying to achieve in greater detail?

    Looking forward to your reply,

    Hey Dennis,

thanks for getting back to me!

Once I saw the screenshot that joetaxpayer linked I knew how to fix this but I am afraid I am going to need some additional information from both of you:
I need the API key you have at the moment – you can find out your API key by going to “Edit Post” page and start the web console – if you use Firefox press F12 or Ctrl+Shift+K and if you use Chrome press Ctrl+Shift+I . In the console type: “Zemanta.api_key” without the quotations and send me back those letters that appear. Check the video for easier navigation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6KRvjyfk4E

Please send those API keys to our support email (support[at]zemanta[dot]com), so that you do not post information like that here.

Take care and have a lovely day,
    Petra

    Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Related Posts] Not working

    Hey,

    thanks for reaching out!

Can you please provide me with some additional information such as:
    1. your WP version
    2. (y)our plugin version
    3. what exactly is the issue – you can’t edit related posts, you can’t change the themes or?

    Looking forward to your reply,
    Petra

    Hey Jamie,

thanks for reaching out and sorry for this one month overdue reply!

I have checked out your blog and noticed you are still using our plugin – thanks! As far as the Pinterest theme goes, the only reason we have not removed it yet is because on standard WP themes it usually works and users really like it. But when it doesn’t work, it really does not want to work :/
Still weird that it popped up on pages though…have you maybe had the plugin installed before and entered manually to have related posts shown in pages? Do you have any other plugin Pinterest related installed and some weird conflict is going on here?

Once again, my apologies for the unintentional silent treatment, take care and have a lovely day,
    Petra

    Hi,

    thanks for letting us know.

Take care and have a lovely day,

    Hey Soerin,

I have replied to you in other post, please see topic: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/related-posts-images?replies=1

    Hey,

    thanks for reaching out!

I have checked out your blog and for example, in this post (that is showing the correct thumbnail):
http://fit-gezond.com/vitadis-slanker-leven-plan/ the image is 250×250 px in size. On the other post, the image is only 194×124 px in size, so our plugin can’t detect it. The images must be at least 151×151 px in size. However you could try adding a “Featured Image” in the problematic post and see if it helps.

Let me know how it goes,
    Petra

    Hey,

thanks for getting back to me!

I have checked out your blog and could it be you have manually edited some of the related posts via the orange “Edit Related Posts” button?
The thing is, when you manually edit the post, this should get stored in a cache in a way, so when using cache related plugins it can cause some issues. But to be honest, it could be something else.
Let me know what happens when you click “Edit Related Posts” and you remove or add a post to your selection (don’t forget to Save and Close) and then re-add the same post.

    Take care,
    Petra

    Hey,

sorry we are really short-handed lately, so to be honest I completely forgot to reply :/
But I did manage to test the Graphene theme and the “Save and Close” optioned worked (in 4.2 and 4.3 WP version). So I have tried installing some of the plugins that were mentioned above and the first problem arose when I installed the “Easy Noindex And Nofollow Version 1.2” which completely broke my test blog. On my new test blog, I installed more or less all the other plugins except Easy Noindex and the saving/changing still worked.
The only other idea is if you have any special browser extensions installed?
And the other idea is if would be possible to make me a guest account on your blog, so that we can investigate this further? If you agree, you can send those credentials to support[at]zemanta[dot]com. Oh, and I don’t miss/overlook the emails like conversations here, promise!

Let me know what you think,
    Petra

    Hey,

thanks for reaching out and for the link to your blog!
I have checked it out and couldn’t find our related posts anywhere. Would it be possible to give me a direct link to one of those articles with no images and also if you could provide me some additional info, such as:
    1. your WP version and theme
    2. (y)our plugin version

    Looking forward to your reply,
    Petra

    Hey Dave,

I have already replied to you via email and also on other forum:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/500-internal-error-when-clicking-links?replies=3#post-7503804

Would you be so kind and tell me which plugin exactly did you use – WordPress Related Posts or Related Posts by Zemanta?

    Looking forward to your reply,
    Petra

    Hey Dave,

about this 500 internal server error: the thing is that if you see this kind of error, then your web server encountered an unexpected condition that prevented it from fulfilling the request by the client for access to the requested URL. This is a ‘catch-all’ error generated by your web server. Basically something has gone wrong, but the server can not be more specific about the error condition in its response to the client. In addition to the 500 Internal Server Error notified back to the client, the Web server should generate some kind of internal error log which gives more details of what went wrong. It is up to the operators of your Web server site (in your case, you) to locate and analyse these logs.

We would like to take a look at those logs too, if possible (to see if the problem is related to the plugin).

    Looking forward to your reply,
    Petra

    Hi,

thanks for getting back to me again and glad to hear you have found the culprit 🙂

If you have any other questions or need an assistance, let me know – I will gladly help (hopefully faster this time)!

    Happy blogging and take care,
    Petra
