In reply to: [Related Posts by Sovrn] Allow Category as part of Related PostsHey,
thanks for reaching out!
I will just copy/paste what I have written on that other post here:"Hey, thanks for reaching out and sorry for such late reply I was going through the support email to find this case. And found it! But as this is not official solution I can not post it here, not to mention it has been a year since we helped with that request. So, if you still require this, please send me an email to support[at]zemanta[dot]com and I will send you the modified files. But please note those files were modified for a plugin version that was out a year ago, so the fix might not work now. Sadly at the moment we are a bit short-handed and I can't test this on my side and make any adjustments but like I have already mentioned you are welcomed to send me an email and go through the files. "All the best,

In reply to: [Related Posts by Sovrn] Rectangular thumbnail.Hey,
thanks for reaching out!
The following code should help if I understood you correctly (also, please note that with some blogs there is an additional code needed, so if the code bellow won’t work, please give me a link to your blog, so that I can take a closer look):
.related_post_title {
}
ul.related_post {
}
ul.related_post li {
}
ul.related_post li a {
}
ul.related_post li img {
width: 150px !important;
height: 77px !important;
}Also, make sure that the custom size thumbnail option is checked and the modified size is entered.
Let me know how it goes, take care and have a lovely day,

In reply to: [Related Posts by Sovrn] Not Proper ThumbsHey,
thanks for reaching out and for the screenshot!
In order to help us understand the issue a bit more I am going to need some additional info:
1. WP version
2. plugin version
3. link to your blogA few months ago this was fixed and users experiencing this had an old version of WP or our plugin installed. Also, keep in mind that other plugins such as WP Total Cache or similar can cause problems such as the one you are having.
Looking forward to your reply,
PetraHey Luci,
thanks for reaching out and my apologies for the late reply!
Is this still happening and is this happening on particular device such as iPhone, Nexus,…? Also, would it be possible to give us a link to your blog, so that I can test this on our side?Looking forward to your reply,

In reply to: [WordPress Related Posts] Edit Related Posts button is deadHey,
thanks for reaching out!
Yes, a lot of users experience the issue but sadly this is usually related to custom WP themes that override our plugin. If you have anything in the header that doesn’t allow loading certain scripts or similar that would most likely be the cause.Could that be the case?
Best,

In reply to: [WordPress Related Posts] Any Plans For Custom Post Type?Hi,
unfortunately at the moment the only way to do this is to modify the init.php file, sorry. And yes, the update would overwrite the change – we had a lot of request to add is an option in the plugin settings but not sure if this will be implemented any time soon :/
But you were able to modify the file and it works for you?All the best,

In reply to: [Related Posts by Sovrn] Alter Post Title LocationOK, I completely understand.
So, my suggestion is this – if you can clear the custom CSS you have currently inserted and also switch to any other theme, for example “Vertical (large)” in (y)our plugin settings. Also, before you do this please make a screenshot of what you want to have as the final visual result (size I assume you want 200×104, related posts one under another or?) and enable the plugin. I will try to take a look at your blog tomorrow but honestly I think I will get to it on Saturday evening. If it is possible to activate the plugin over the weekend or at least Saturday that would be amazing?Let me know what you think,

In reply to: [Related Posts by Sovrn] Alter Post Title LocationHmmmm…I tried a couple of things but the dots won’t get away. I have an idea though. Can you photoshop exactly the way you wish to have the related posts show up on your page and also on mobile view and make me a guest account on your blog, so that I can adjust the CSS there? If that is an option you can send those credentials to support[at]zemanta[dot]com. If not, then I would still ask you to photoshop the way you wish to have them shown and I will try to get that as similar as I can 🙂

In reply to: [Related Posts by Sovrn] Alter Post Title LocationSo, I have taken a look and I have noticed you were able to remove the titles, which is great. I assume the only thing you want to remove are those dots in front of the thumbnails?
Now, if I understand you correctly the dots showed up, as you have used “Plain theme” but honestly, you can use for example the “Vertical (large)” one and we can then adjust it. Because to be honest, I don’t know how to get rid of the dots from the plain theme but we can remove the titles from the other themes simply adding to that “Custom CSS” box (and no dots will show up):a.zem_rp_title { visibility: hidden !important; }Hope this helps, if not, let me know and we will think of something else,

In reply to: [WordPress Related Posts] Default thumbnails are often displayedHey Ken (if I remember correctly :)),
thanks for reaching out and big thank you for such detailed explanation!
So, let’s start with some answers:
1.) it shouldn’t be (but there are sometimes issues with customs WP themes)
2.) it is critical when you are using a plugin for featured images and not the default WP featured image (but this is also not working from what I can tell?)
3.) if the thumbnail is not a “normal” size, the plugin creates a new one and adjusts it
4.) yes, if everything else fails, you can try the “custom field” option (I can explain in detail how to use this option, if you decide to try it)
5.) usually yes (if you have a plugin such as WP Cache or similar, it can prevent making changes to the thumbnails for example)If you can create a guest account on your blog as you suggested, I can take a closer look at the issue. You can send those credentials to support[at]zemanta[dot]com.
Take care and happy Monday,

In reply to: [Related Posts by Sovrn] Alter Post Title LocationHey,
thanks for getting back to me! I think we can fix more or less everything but yes, unfortunately I will need you to activate the plugin, so that I can take a closer look and adjust the CSS.
Let me know when you will activate it and please note that I will need a day, max two to check things out – will that work for you?
Take care and have a lovely Monday,
Petra
