Now I am even more confused. I can add a new page, which I called test. I can publish it, I can also preview changes, and I can view it, either by going to http://deanwhitlock.com/test or by clicking “test” in the menubar. But I can’t find that page anywhere. Using cPanel file manager search, there is no directory or file named “test”. Using an ftp client, same result. Yet the page menubar shows that it links to http://deanwhitlock.com/test. What?
No. And that wouldn’t prevent writing and time-stamping a new html file. And that isn’t happening.
Yes to the dns question. I can FTP changes or edit files in cPanel File Manager and see the changes. But those index.html files don’t get updated so the browser-displayed content never changes.
