    Ok I have managed to get into the database and have found the active plugins within the options table.

    a:11:
{i:0;s:45:"plugin-1.php";

    I will cancel the offending plugin but I have one question:
    after I delete that line must I change the first line to
    a:10:
    and then renumber the 4 last plugins that come after the one I intend to remove?
    i.e. the last one will become
    1:10;s:19:"plugin-10.php;

    Adding this to the ongoing thread in order to prevent thread sprawl (but if the mods want to move it, fine):

    After the upgrade to 3.8…:

    • my media files no longer are visualised: they are there but I’m not seeing the thumbnail preview;
    • When I upload a new image and go to edit it does not display the full image but a square partial crop (however if I go to “View Attachment Page” I see the full image);
    • The pages that displays the available themes is wacky – the theme images are resized to double size and cropped in half…?

    Does this plugin also transmit the name of the actual logged-in user who is using the plugin? The page with the contact form is only open to registered users, but I want to be sure that nobody sends messages using another name….. CFORMS doesn’t allow this option, AFAIK.

    My bad, indeed :-/
    I loaded the plugins on the new site, but I hadn’t activated them, therefore the table count was different.

    One more lesson learnt, I suppose.
