I “unchecked” the organize my uploads into month and year box and it looks like it works. I placed a pic, but I am unsure what went wrong.

Now, that’s really odd. That URL is where my test files were placed.

Perhaps the test files are what’s getting in the way? I found the test files were tricking me up when I was trying on different themes – setting it back to default. Maybe I need to scrap and start over?

Yes, I am logged in as admin. It was an activitated plugin that seemed to block the photo function. Here is that post:http://wordpress.org/support/topic/79128?replies=4.

here is more info : the report message is, “The uploaded file could not be moved to .” I checked the File Attributes on folders and they are “777.”
