  • I just started with WordPress and am very discouraged. I get an error message: Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@pamelaryan.us and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This happens when I try to click on Recent Entries. If I click on the Comments (there is one, from WordPress) I just get sent to your main website. Ihave disabled ALL the plugins per James Huff’s answer to the OP, I have changed to the TwentySixteen Theme, none of that worked.

    His post suggested:
If that does not resolve the issue, it’s possible that a .htaccess rule could be the source of the problem. To check for this, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and rename the .htaccess file. If you can’t find a .htaccess file, make sure that you have set your SFTP or FTP client to view invisible files.

I haven’t a clue on how to do that. Hosting my blog (that there is no point in even updating at this point) was supposed to be easy and wonderful at WordPress. It is neither and I’d like to go back to google but I don’t know how to do that either. I am very frustrated.

    Pam
