In reply to: Site (guest and admin) appears without style in firefox but not ieI tried deactivating all of my plugins as a preliminary troubleshooting step before I posted here. I tried it again just now in case the import change in combination would have made any difference but no luck.
BTW it doesn’t work remotely or locally for me. The only situation that does work is ie.

In reply to: Site (guest and admin) appears without style in firefox but not ieI know huh, this is messed up. If I view the site in firefox, then use my handy dandy web developer tool bar and click CSS, Edit CSS the style turns on and starts working. I can also click CSS, View CSS and this plugin confirms that firefox knows where the stylesheet is by finding it and displaying it on that page. This is also something that I thought was working before.
Anyone else have any ideas???

In reply to: Site (guest and admin) appears without style in firefox but not ieI found it through the wordpress admin UI. I knew I had seen it there before. Design, Theme Editor.
Even with the change to reference the css using the other common method, it is still having the same problem. the site again
Thanks for your continued help on this.
P.S.
Which parts of the blog look like copy and pastes from Word? I always write all of my own markup. Thanks

In reply to: Need Website-101 advice about my site and photosI just think one of your premises is wrong. It does take a long time to load a large image and that’s what users of your site will expect. If it is inordinately long, then the problem isn’t site design, it’s the pipe.
If the image you have taken is too large to fit in the resolution of client machines, this is also ok in some cases. One case primarily being if you want to provide the highest quality photo possible to your users. Most modern-day browsers already scale the image to fit the window for convenience to the end user.

In reply to: Need Website-101 advice about my site and photosWhen I view the properties on the photo on your opening page I see this “2448px × 3264px (scaled to 500px × 666px)”.
The first best thing to do for your photo blog is to have two versions of your photo: a small version (in this case your thumbnail will be 500×666) and the original-sized full version.
Only show the small version to your guests initially. If they click the thumbnail, then you show the full-sized version.
