In reply to: Broken ThemeHello ThumNet,
I am trying to the latest version, 1.4. Is the link to the new code that will fix the issue? As I said, I do not know code that well, my work is to set up sites using existing themes, and of course, if we use those themes, we do compensate the authors for the use.

In reply to: Visual/HTML issuesYa, I’m still learning the forums, don’t come here much, that’s a good thing I guess.
Word??? That’s a Microsoft based virus, right?? LOL!! The only windows here are in my house!
No, it’s all Mac all the time here! 🙂 I edit text and code on Text Wrangler, or Text Edit, any pasting done has been with the text pasting tool, no, not the one for Windows based text, the other one. Yes, I do double space, so that may be it, I’ll have to look for that to see if it’s causing the issue.
Thanks for the help. 🙂
BTW….. cool site, love the “how to” for hiring a site designer, something similar on my site, called “Three Things.”

In reply to: Visual/HTML issuesOk, I tried posting this before but it saw it as code and made a (you guessed it) bar space. LOL! So this time I will introduce some spaces into the code so it is not code.

Just remove the spaces and you will see the code.

In reply to: Visual/HTML issuesHey Zoonini,
Thanks for the reply, it works sort-of, the videos embed ok, but I noticed that play back on them was not smooth, they will stop and start with the “loading” wheel spinning. Also, another glitch I found was that the will not take any sort of formatting such as “align center.” I guess I just have to reinsert the code when I’m done with the page.
All that said, there still is the bar space code being inserted when switching back and forth, I can’t tell you the number of times I have had to remove that code!

In reply to: Exact Placement of ImagesThanks Rev., right now this is what I am seeing in the CSS file.
.aligncenter, div.aligncenter { display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;}
img.alignleft { margin:0px 20px 20px 0; }
img.alignright { margin:0px 0 20px 20px; }
img.aligncenter {}I knew I could change the padding in the CSS for a global change, but, she is being quite specific about where text wraps around images, being quite fussy actually. 🙁
They are also wanting thumbnails with text next to them, but when I have attempted it on other projects, I get a “stair step” effect, where the image on what is supposed to be in the next paragraph, ends up tucked in behind the previous text.
I have been researching the use of clear:both; in CSS, but I am not sure where it is inserted in the CSS stylesheet. Would this be correct use?
img.alignleft { margin:0px 20px 20px 0; clear:both; }
Thanks for the help again.

In reply to: Going InsaneAnd I guess someone should have told me categories have ID numbers and where to find them! Found the category ID, put it in the right spot, and NOW it works! (live and learn my NEW motto)
Thanks!
I was very disappointed to see the google popup ads myself! I was excited to find this solution for my client wanting to have downloadable PDF links. I was wanting to keep them away from those, and at first glance I thought this was a good plugin, it’s total crap! I thought these plugins were screened for this type of thing. Did you notice the CSS file is only referenced to an external link in the PHP file? What junk!

In reply to: How can I make EACH entry searchable by google?Hello Maestrodt,
The Twitter thing is a part of my theme, it is a widget area that you “drop” a WP twitter plugin to. My theme is what is called a “premium” theme, I bought it from Theme Forest, it cost $32. It has features the free themes don’t.
The “read more” feature is not on the SEO plugin, it is a part of WP. If you look in you page or post admin panel, on the first row of buttons above your text you will see it, two rectangles with a gap, that is the page break button. I usually like to insert it right after a period, before the start of my next sentence.
May I suggest this? There are places to learn SEO and WordPress, a year ago, I didn’t know how to do either. I learned both here. http://www.lynda.com it’s a pay to learn site, with tutorial videos, $25 a month, not bad. You could also search for tutorials on line, there are many out there that are free. As for more on SEO, Google has a TON of info. If you don’t have an account, get one and learn to use the web master tools.
This time last year, I was just starting with WP and SEO, now I have two WP blogs, one WP CMS, http://www.timage.com and one more coming soon. On Google I am on page one in the SERPs for some of the most searched terms in my industry locally. So, everything is possible, if I have done it, so can you!
Hope I have been of help.

In reply to: How can I make EACH entry searchable by google?Maestrodt,
Something that could also help once you install the SEO plugin, I would cut your posts up with the “read more” line break in WP, this will allow you to add specific key words and titles to that post. Right now, your blog is just one big string of posts. Check out my blog to see how I use the “read more” feature. http://www.theatlantaweddingphotographer.com I would also recommend registering your site with Google and verifying it. You should also install a site map generator, it will ping Google when you make a new post. But, I think you would be best served by using the “read more” feature, even on the old posts. And don’t worry about Google, they will crawl and index your posts, those little buggers go everywhere!
