Oasis Workflow doesn’t have any such restriction on how many items to show up in a widget. BTW, which widget is it referring to?
It could be some other plugin that’s throwing the message – “you can select up to five posts to display in this widget”. Can you scan your codebase to see which plugin/code file this message is coning from?
Yep, Oasis Workflow will do the trick.
The Pro version will allow you to work with published articles as well, where you can create a revision of a published article, let the revision move through the workflow for review and once approved, the revised contents gets copied over to the original article. This way, your original article never goes offline for any updates.

Make sure you select this newly created custom post type under Workflows -> Settings, Workflow tab – Post Types that can participate in the workflow.
Also, if you have selected specific post types on the workflow, make sure to include this one too.

As of now, since the DB structures are different between free and pro and there are other subtle differences on how the workflow operates, porting a free version to a pro is not possible. We have a user story in the backlog to make this happen.
But, if you were using the free version, you will have only one active workflow.
Unfortunately, you will have the create that workflow again.
In order to make sure you do not see any issues, make sure to uninstall (not just deactivate) the free version before installing the Pro version.

@delcorny, you are essentially looking for a one-step workflow as shown on https://www.oasisworkflow.com/documentation/basic-concepts/commonly-used-workflows
Essentially, your first step in the workflow should be the “publish” step. This step will act as “review and publish”. Then from this step, you create a failure/red connection to “assignment” step. So, if the publisher/reviewer doesn’t like something he/she can reject/unable to complete and it will go to assignment step.
