Can anyone confirm if they’ve contacted the plugin author? I’m getting the problem and happy to do so, but equally don’t want to spam them.

Having the same problem here – running WP2.9.1, can’t get the link URL to work.
I don’t know if it makes a difference, but I’m trying to apply it to the post-thumbnail – introduced in WP2.9 – not to an image inserted into the post.

it looks like an issue with the version of PHP – 4.3.2 being the same one I’m on, and a bit out of date by the look of it.
Me too – I get it with the RSS widget.
