When you said
“Please go to edit screen of your profile and provide the description field value.”If you meant going to the standard edit page screen of the profile page at backend, then there’s not any fields shown there because all profile pages in UM are just shortcodes inside the page editor. This is not the regular page we create on our own. This is created by UM automatically because of the shortcodes in the page editor.
Are we on the same page? Thank you.

Hi mansurahamed,
Thank you for the reply.
Can you please advise where and how I can get to the so-called “my html code link”? I don’t see any html link at the backend settings where I checked the box under Appearance / Profile / Enable html support for user description.
I apologize if that’s something everybody should know.
And my active theme is my child theme if that matters.
Thank you.
I enabled the html link from the settings at backend so it’s just a tick in the box. I’m not a dev and apologize I don’t know code. But if you can advise how to add target=”_blank” attribute to my html link, and if that instructions are easy to follow by a non-techie, I’ll be more than happy to follow. I have added codes to my child theme functions.php many times so that i can manage.
I’m not sure if this case is considered “Resolved” since I have not been given the chance to respond to your initial reply yet until now.
Thank you.

Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Comments - wpDiscuz] Facebook Application IDThank you for the link but what it’s stated on the page is already outdated. Regardless, is there a way I can hide the social media share buttons? The Settings does not provide us the option to hide them. Thank you.
I totally understood what you said, which is why i’d have asked. It would be nice if you can make the option of allowing Admin to select to either delete or keep the content when members delete / cancel their accounts available to Admin. That will be very helpful, and powerful because that will make this plugin ahead of most, if not all, other membership plugins in this regard.
I spent sometime today further exploring this plugin and have these questions:
1. Members never receive any invoice after completing registration.
2. When a customer downgrade his membership, the email he receives still says “Your Accopnt Has Been Upgraded.”
3. What happens when a recurring subscription paymeny fails? Will both Admin and member receive an email, and then what happens afterwards?
4. Whenever a member changes membership level (up or downgrade), the amount due is not prorated, is that correct? It simply charges the total amount of the new membership level then start counting a full new billing cycle from this point on, is that how it works? That’s what I observed from experimenting.
5. Our Sent From name in email to our members can only show 10 characters in the receipient’s email box. All remaining characters got cut.
6. After registration, the email asking members to complete registration never got to yahoo email, but it works fine with Gmail and a disposable email provider I used in testing.
7. After a new registrant submits his payment via Stripe, the screen stays there for a while then taking him to home page. But shouldn’t the registrant be taken to a page telling him to check his email and click on the link in the eamil to complete his registration instead?
8. Default Account Status in Settings: can we assign only the free or certain specific membership level(s) to Pending and the rest to Active?
9. Will members in a subscription plan receive an email notification some time prior to each of their billing cycle ends? The settings at Stripe is 7 days prior, so will the members receive that email from Stripe, or from the plugin?
10. Notification to Admin of New Member Registration: can we add the mener’s membership level to the email?
11. In our Stripe account:
Payment / settings / cards, Alipay, Bitcoin and Apply Pay. Can we activate them?Thank you.
Best regards.
“In regards to your other question are you referring to commenting by members?”
The majority of my site content is contributed by my members from frontend, which includes posts, events and comments. When they delete their accounts, all those published stuff got moved over to Admin. The sheet quantity of those publication is concerning, and all of them are still searchable by the Search box with the Admin as their author. I understood I could use a different public name for Admin. I was just hoping there would be a way to prevent this from happening in the first place, meaning when a member deletes his account, all of his publications are also deleted from the system. Thank you.
Hi there,
T just figured out the reason it didn’t work was because in the code I used membership level name instead of membership id number. After changing to the id #, it works fine. Thank you for following up. I really appreciate that.
I haven’t got time checking out this plugin yet since last message and I’ll do that tomorrow. For now, I found one thing that can be a problem.
I don’t see anywhere members can cancel their account. Is Delete the only option? The problem with that is after deletion, everything the member has published will automatically be moved to Admin’s name and they’re still searchable on the site, as a result, exposing Admin’s username, that is Admin’s login name, which is a big no -no. I know I can change Admin username to a different public Display name but it would be better if we can avoid it altogether. So is there any way to achieve that?
Thank you.
Best regards,
2. Are you referring to one time payment or subscription payment?
both
By the way, I just tried the partial protection codes
Using a Custom Message for the Non Members[swpm_protected for="2-3" custom_msg="This is a custom protection message"] The content goes here. this content will be hidden and only available to members of membership level 2 or 3. [/swpm_protected]I entered the only membership level I want to show the content to but the content won’t show. It was blocked just like it was blocked to a logged-out member. That’s when I used it on a custom post type page. When I tried it on the Join Us page, it blocked the entire page.
Thank you.
Already checked with the host. Disable caching, changed theme to 2017, deactivated all plugins, still nothing changed. The Acount / Privacy tab can’t hide online status.
I sure have read How to set up Online users extension.
Regarding the caching, I’ll have to check with my host. Will get back.
Thank you
“2. Ultimate member doesn’t compatible with Restrict Content Pro.”
I learned about RCP from your website and the page specifically mentioned RCP for paid membership functionality with UM. Now you’re telling me it’s not compatible with UM. This is confusing.http://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/212-does-ultimate-member-have-paid-membership-functionality
“3. Yes, you should use login page.”
My original question was“Is the login page the only way a member can login and out instead of a widget like in Buddypress?”
Thank you.
I apologize for not describing the Online User problem accurately above. I submitted the thread last night after spending 8 hours straight trying to integrate every element of UM to other plugins on my site and i was already tired. Anyway, no excuse 🙂
The little dot indicating an user is online does appear but he can’t hide it. Every time I select to hide it, after entering the request it just bounced back to not hiding.
Thank you.
Hi there,
Thank you for the reply. I’ve been exploring this plugin this past week and found it much more versatile than Buddypress. But not sure if I missed out something or what, some functionalities don’t seem to work they intend to.
1. The Online User extention does not work at all. I changed theme to 2017 and deactivated all plugins one by one and the extension never worked even once. I checked UM setting and did not see anything particularly pertaining to this extension added after activating the extension. So what’s wrong?
2. I currently have free version of Um and free version of WooCommerce.
When I restrict a product to certain UM community roles, despite the fact when clicking on the restricted product, restricted members wil be directed to the home page, the product would still show up on the Shop page and these members can still add it to cart. This does not make any sense. Is it the way it is or do i need to have your WC extension installed in order for the restricted product to disappear from the Shop page?
You mentioned Restrict Content Pro for member subscription and charge members, but i don’t see an UM extension for integrating to RCP. Does that mean with RCP we don’t need one, unlike WC Subscription extension? And which one, generally speaking, work better with UM? What are the main differences between them? Is RCP also based on WooCommerce?
3. Is the login page the only way a member can login and out instead of a widget like in Buddypress?
Thank you.
Sincerely
